  "Convenient location. Good room service. Helpful reception staff. Good parking options. Bar/dining areas relatively dark because at basement level. Be prepared for a noisy late evening if a football match is on at the nearby stadium! Fans were letting off very loud fireworks until late." (97516304)

  Clean, functional, modern and very spacious.

  Not much, but the views are mainly urban rather than 'seaside' views. Balconies not very inviting. Some wear and tear on fabrics.

  "Overall positive impression was severely dented by the above. The city is well worth visiting as is Bilbao only a 90 minute bus trip away." (97834924)

  Waste food (chorizo slices) left on ledges beside the lift shaft for what must have been weeks or months. This raises questions about the overall level of hygiene and cleanliness as the food was visible to anyone using the lift.

  UN BUON HOTEL, IN POSIZIONE UN PO' DECENTRATA MA IN UNA ZONA RESIDENZIALE MOLTO FUNZIONALE, A QUATTRO PASSI DALLA BELLISSIMA PLAYA DEL SARDINERO. LA STANZA CI HA SODDISFATTO IN PIENO, SIA PER LA GRANDEZZA (VERAMENTE NOTEVOLE) CHE PER PULIZIA E FUNZIONALITA'.

  "we wished we could have stayed longer so we could have enjoyed the hotel's hospitality longer, but we had our flight booked for the following day." (99731970)

  during my tour of spain for 21 days the hotel palacios del mar was the best hotel, best priced and great value for money that says it all

  "All in all, a nice weekend. When booking on-line, we were not given the option of a suite that would accommodate two adults and two children. So, originally we booked two separate rooms. Upon arrival we were able to switch to the available suite which worked much better for our family. We thought the price of the stay was very reasonable for the off-season. Although there was not much of a view from the hotel, it was an easy walk to get to the beach. We would stay at this hotel again." (99716185)

  The room was very clean! The location was also pretty good - walking distance to a lovely beach, easy access to the bus system, and the swimming pool was right next door.

  We were unaware of the nice breakfast room downstairs, so spent the first two mornings buying not great sandwiches at the little cafe. Also- when we paid to watch a movie on the television, we also unlocked two porn channels, which my 6 year old daughter ran across. I wish those channels required a separate subscription than the regular movie channel.

  "the hotel is an ugly concrete building. the rooms are large but bland. The shower leaked onto the floor. But overall the hotel is fine. more so if you are going to the football (Racing Santander) which is next door or the beach which is beautiful. This hotel lacks charm, atmosphere but is functional."   "Was a bit hesitant about this hotel due to feedback from various websites.I found the staff to be friendly,the rooms were ideal.I can understand that being next to the football stadium could be a problem especially on match days but this did not affect our stay.Tha beach,two supermarkets and a tabac all within walking distance.Bus stop close by 1 euro fare into Santander centro.I would certainly book again."
