The flexibility of the staff, a colleague of mine had a small issue with her room and the staff could not do enough to make sure she was satsifactorally moved to a new one of her choice. Breakfast was fantastic value.
The hotel could be much improved with a lick of paint. A few of the group booked via different locations / web sites and as such each seemed to pay a different price for their stay. If it is within the Hotels remit, I would have been good to know that everyone pays the same rate.

No room service. The room was not throughly clean and was very small for two people.

Bar staff very kindly let us have a drink at the bar despite just closing up late on in evening (approx 12.30 a.m.) Very large bed and clean bed linen.
Disappointed there was not a bath in en-suite. TV remote was broken. Not enough milk provided on tea tray. Felt that price should have had breakfast included.

Ideal location for where I was going. Not the Oasis concert. Always happy with Active Internet service.
I needed extra rooms for my parents and sisters, I was let down by a booking agent. I was not prepared to pay the heavily inflated price the hotel were charging for a room. Just because Oasis were in concert in Heaton Park, demand raises prices. This I was disgusted at. I think this hotel needs to get into the 21st century, £50 OTT for this state of hotel. The room was described as having four walls and a roof. Lift inept. Noise from other guests. Creaking floor boards. Antique fittings circa 1970's. Monton House manager - How about some maintenance on the roof? I suggest cleaning the down spout and the moss from the roof, at rear. In dire need of loads care and attention. A little love and pride would improve things. Generally overpriced for condition. you did ask

Most of the staff were lovely. The ideal location to get to the 60th birthday we went to. The ease in which we could get to different parts.
Arriving at 11.45pm and not being able to get either a drink or a sandwich, our flight had been delayed and we had not had anything to eat. Also no food or bar on Sunday evening.

Generally clean and tidy. Quiet location easy access to public transport and motorway. Hearty buffet breakfast was very good.
There were few bad points to even mention.

The corridors smelt of chinese take out food. The room itself stunk of smoke, so much that it was embedded in my clothes and hair. The window sill was covered in mould and damp. the bed was awful to sleep on. Overall the hotel was horrible and i didnt want to stay there.

The staff were friendly and efficient. Clean towels and bedding.
Cleanliness was poor, in the bathroom - pubic hair in the shower and dirty surfaces on the shelves, in the bedroom - dirty shelf and crockery by the kettle and in the dining room(food on the floor underneath the heated trolley at breakfast)

all staff were of high calibre of help and friendliness, and willing to assist in anyway possible.
the overall appearance of the hotel is in a state of lack of modernization, with poor up keep of bathroom facilities in the rooms (tiles in shower with black coloured dirt between tiles) toilet not fixed to floor, bed linen sheets probably used for quite a long time and never replaced when various stains etc have appeared through time of use.

1. The purpose of the stay was to get a quick rest before an early Sunday morning flight. The noise level was too high to get to get adequate rest 2. Asked for wake up call which never happened

It was after 3 am when I finally got settled with all the mayhem from the police etc outside." (107227574)
Generally good service and staff polite and helpful. very nice dining area (the patricroft) and enjoyed the carvery on the Sunday lunch.
I was warned on my booking form that I may be able to hear loud music from my bedroom - that was an under statement! We could virtually hear every word of the song, and the vibration from the music was awful - In my view these rooms immediately above the function room should not be let on weekends if there is a party as there is definitely a difference between hearing music and feeling like you are in a "torture chamber" especially when you are over 60!

Extremely disgusting room,its very very very out of date and the domestics need to be shown how to do there job!There was mould all over the bathroom and dirt outside our hotel room as well as the room not being hoovered and a broken cupboard door that wouldnt shut properly

Staff really nice, good friendly atmosphere and, as a base to start your day with a good breakfast, altogether fine.
The place is obviously due an upgrade. It's tired in a lot of areas, decor being the main thing. Most modern hotels have more than the 5 analogue t.v. stations in the room.

Room was a little tatty and could do with an update. We were at one of the functions in the hotel but if you were not it would be too noisy to stay there.

MY ROOM WAS CLEAN AND THE MAIDS(APOLOGY IF THIS ISNT THE TERM USED) WERE SPOT ON. ALTHOUGH I NEVER SEEN ONE MY BED WAS CHANGED AND TEA FACILITY WAS ALWAYS TOPPED UP WHICH WAS GREAT. SHOWER/BATHROOM WAS GOOD AND THE PLACE WAS ALL ROUND SPOT ON. INCLUDING THE FOOD. A HAPPY STAY THANKS
