the menu was not appealing the prices far too expensive for what was on offer.the room was very basic for the price the room and common areas were dirty with several see able cobwebs,very much doubt i will be staying there again

Very good value for money. Excellent breakfast, a bit on the expensive side, but it's worth it. It was lovely to have different kinds of cheese in the buffet.
The corridor smelled of cigarettes although all rooms were no smoking.

Check in speed, freindliness of staff.
Bed was a little uncomfortable, 2 Single beds zipped together so seam in the middle.

No complaints,room comfortable and warm,staff very pleasant and obliging.
I ordered toad in the hole for my evening meal but unfortunatly it was as hard as a brick!! but it was exchanged for something else very quickly.I was told the toad in the hole was bought in, perhaps if it was made on the premises it would have been acceptable.

staff were friendly and attentive
had to pay for breakfast and would have to look at overall cost for competition.also i thought the cooked breakfast was buffet.

The room was basic but fine for the price
The supper was quite frankly poor: the toad in the hole was tough and the vegetable poor quality and overcooked. We decided not to try the breakfast.

Excellent double bed with good size duvet. Excellent tea making facilities. Soft towels. Best Shower (easy operation and power) in a long time. Food in the restaurant very good. Breakfast is good value for money. Best part of the stay was the attitude of the staff. Very friendly and helpful as well as efficient.
Our only criticism would be our Sat Nav could not find the Hotel. The Post Code of the hotel; is NE37 1LE. The nice people at the Hotel said NE37 1LB will find the Hotel, and they are right it does. So even if NE37 1LE is the correct post-code for the Hotel it might be useful to put the additional information on the web site. We travelled from West Sussex to the Hotel and were weary on arrival. The last thing we wanted was to be able to see the hotel but not able to figure out how to get to it.

Douvet was the right weight Hotel close to the event Had vacancies required
Not enough tea coffee or milks in the room very slow delivery and minimum quantity when more asked for Bathroom lighting poor one light broken told it could not be fixed?? weekend!!! No socket near hairdryer to plug in straighteners Long wait for cooked breakfast and not hot did not have time to wait 22 mins for a replacement!!! Ran out of orange juice!!!

Pleasant staff and good food. We were moved at our request to a quieter room, without fuss or ado. The receptionist phoned the noisy occupants of the next room with a polite warning regarding their noisiness.
Upon returning to our room at the end of our first night, it had not been serviced, despite leaving the appropiate card on the outside door handle. All of the room lights were on and the bed was made, but, no towels or refreshments. A staff member brought fresh supplies and apologised on behalf of the hotel.

The staff were extremely helpful and really gave of their best. They made our stay most enjoyable.
Not necessarily a 'bad' point, but the meals could do with a bit of 'perking up' just a small amount of 'green' vegetables is not sufficient with a main meal is not good. How about serving salad or at least garnish with the steak. Breakfasts seemed expensive for what was served. The rooms are very tight, just a few more inches in the bathroom and bedroom would make the whole stay much more enjoyable. To have the 'smoking area' just outside the entrance door to the bedrooms is not a good idea, non-smoking guests have to go through their smoke.

The hotel was very good for the price and a very plesent place to stay.
My only bad point was there was not one plug socket in the bedroom that i could use the only one in the room was for the tv. Could have done with an extra plug socket or 2 for guest use.

They could have done with a lift - I had to walk up a couple of floors with baggage. However, everything else was fine.

Beds comfortable.Plenty of hot water.Ease of access to the motorway.
No lounge no comfortable seating.Unable to have a relaxing drink and conversation.Three choices of lager only one bitter.I realise it is french owned.But this is england.
