The Kings Arms, Chipping Campden commentarios"Generally very pleasant, but let down by bad points mentioned above, which could be cured with little effort." (108789911)
Comfortable room; well equipped; adequate space; tea and coffee making facility particularly welcome; good quality TV with Freeview; free parking; pretty well-kept garden at rear.
No plug in bath; despite booking a wake-up call and a newspaper for the morning, I received neither a call nor a newspaper; coffee at breakfast was instant, not ground/filtered; fried eggs at breakfast were undercooked, almost raw.

Lovely town, fine building, personable staff, spotless room.
The food wasn't great: evening meal lambs liver undercooked; breakfast sausage black on the outside, undercooked in the middle. Rafters room was very warm and I banged my head.

The Kings Arms, Chipping Campden commentarios"We last stayed at this hotel 23 years ago. There have been a numberv of changes for the better however we missed the provision of a residents lounge. The original lounge having been changed into a dining room. There are sofas in the entrance hall/reception but is rather akin to sitting in grand central." (107781904)
excellent room with good ensuite shower facilities
The breafast menu would benefit from a wider choice of fruit. It was limited to rather bland melon at the time of our visit

The Kings Arms, Chipping Campden commentarios"Excellent" (107726278)
Excellent clean hotel helpful staff. Food was excellent. Would definately recommend the hotel and return ourselves.
Only two points, a separate shower instead of a sit down one would have been nice. Also the room was a little dark with just three side lights, romantic but dark if you wanted to read.

Excellent location in the the Cotswolds. Clean, tidy rooms with white sheets on lofty down comforter. Bathrooms were clean and modern. Breakfast was excellent. Dinner in the the restaurant was fantastic...very gourmet and excellent value. Service was impeccable. Very friendly staff. Welcoming and accommodating. Took the time to orient us to the region and even gave us a hand-drawn map. Excellent value for money.
Our room in the front of the building (on the Square) did get some noise from the street. Not bad but if you're sensitive, you might request a garden-facing room. Also, the room was a bit dark and closet had no light.

Roomy and reasonably quiet.
Room was rather warm at night. Parking was a minor problem.

The Kings Arms, Chipping Campden commentarios"Fantastic village, full of character with the sun reflecting off the beautiful stone work of the buildings. The food at the King's is excellent both in the bistro and brasserie and staff are extremely professional and friendly. It's not particularly cheap - having said that August bank holiday prices are likely to be somewhat inflated due to demand. The unoaked Italian Chardonnay is to die for and reasonable! Nice beer/wine garden and parking is also easy even if the Hotel is full there is space directly opposite the venue." (3305152537)
Staff, location, room (we were given an upgrade)& food - excellent
A little expensive - good for a special occasion

The Kings Arms, Chipping Campden commentarios"The staff were friendly and attentive, though not in an overbaring manner. We were given great advice on the area and were offered a hand written guide of the interesting places to visit and how to visit them. We were offered information on local restaurants but wisely didn't take notice of this and ate in the hotels restuarant where the food was of the highest quality, rarely have we tasted better food!! I recommend the Lamb!! An excellent base for visiting the Cotswolds." (3305214790)
The attention given by staff was excellent. The room and building were well presented, comfortable and clean.
The only improvement that we could suggest would be the instalation of a spa bath in the room and a wider vatiety of biscuits in the room.

The Kings Arms, Chipping Campden commentarios"The hotel was comfortable and the staff very efficient. An excellent breakfast was served with plenty of choice, and we enjoyed some very good fish from the brasserie. The terrace where we ate our evening meal was delightful. It would have been nice to know beforehand that the height of the ceilings made it impossible to have a shower in the en-suite. We enjoyed our stay but as stated before the lack of a long mirror and no fridge or availability of ice on a very hot few days in July were a drawback. Overall we had a very pleasant stay." (3304894423)
A fantastic sleigh bed and wonderful view.
No long mirror in the room and no fridge so drinks were tepid.

The Kings Arms, Chipping Campden commentarios"We enjoyed Chipping Camden and its proximity to other villages and of course Stratford. The hotel was fine and the food was great, although overall we felt it was little expensive considering the facilities. The On-line booking was cheaper than booking direct by phone. The room was clean although the TV only has terrestial channels and the hot temperatures meant keeping the window open - which meant it got very noisy as our room looked over the main square. The early morning wake up by the local Dust cart (6:55am) was something we could have done without!" (3304870367)
The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. There is a car park and the local amenities were good.
The outside temperatures were very hot, and as the hotel did not have air conditioning the room was very uncomfortable.

The Kings Arms, Chipping Campden commentarios"This is the best hotel stay I have ever had. It was a warm friendly place with good size rooms and fantastic food. It had a very homely feel to it, unlike the clinical atmosphere in most hotels. The staff were very polite and friendly and the whole experience was very pleasing. I was sorry to check out, and that's the first time that has ever happened to me in a hotel. I would totally recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to stay over in the Cotswolds. It completely exceeded my expectations." (2867722)
It was excellent, the decor of the room and the whole hotel was of a high quality. The food in the restaurant was absolutely excellent, as was the breakfast selection in the morning. Also it was very quiet at night, so you could get a good night's sleep.
None!

Spacious room and nice bed linen.
Tea and coffee making facilities were very poor. The milk in containers was off. Dusty bedside cabinets do not give a good impression.

A wardrobe would be practical there where only 2 coathangers on a wall. More attention when cleaning the bathroom (empty the bins, new toiletpaper).

The Kings Arms, Chipping Campden commentarios"We choose the Cotswolds so that we could enjoy a quiet weekend away, unfortunatly 'The Kings Arms' proved to be the more popular place to drink attracting a greater number of people that would be considered comfortable in a place of that size." (2401345)
We stayed in a standard room that offered ample space to move & store our luggage. The staff were friendly and food was excellent.
Some air conditioning or a fan would have been nice, since the room became unbearable during the day and night.

The meal in the restaurant was excellent, very good selection of wines and the service we received was very good. The king room was lovely, not frills or fuss, just what I wanted for a special night away. A real treat." (1836256)

The Kings Arms, Chipping Campden commentarios"The hotel lived up to its description as did the food. The staff were all polite and helpful. I expected to find shower gel in the bathroom as that tends to be the norm, but that was not a major problem. As stated above, one bright side light would have been very useful to do work by, as I was combining work with lesiure and spent approximately four hours a day on paper work; the room lighting was very soft and atmospheric." (1773755)
An attractive old building.A comfortable, large room with an interesting view over the town.
A slight smell of cigarettes coming up from the bar. No bright study lamp to use for work in the room.

"The bad points unfortunately outweighed the good points, and I didn't enjoy it because of the noise and the frustration of trying to sleep in it." (108894670)
The hotel was modern, staff was friendly, room was big enough.
Completely disappointed in the noise throughout the hotel. The walls were so thin, we could not sleep - we were in the room right above the kitchen - the noise, delivery, chatting of staff was like we were trying to sleep in the kitchen itself. We could hear all doors banging, our neighbours chatting, their tv, them sneezing. It was disastrous from that point of view! Lamps were dusty! When booking online the hotel name was "The King's Arms" and when arriving its called the "Kings Hotel" - how are we supposed to know its the same one (even if similar)?!
