Firgrove Hotel, Blackpool commentaires"went away for a lads w/end, we had basic but clean rooms,self service breakfast which was a really good idea & went down well,and the staff were very friendly.The bar was open 24hrs and you could come & go as you please anytime of the day or night with no bother.I saw poor reviews of this hotel but if your on a lads w/end your not gonna find the ritz but if you want a friendly clean hotel just to lay your head then this is for you. On viewing the hotel interior and the room we descided not to stay at this hotel.
The hotel smelt of stale food, the carpets were shabby and dirty, the room was in a state of dis-repair (holes in the walls, electrical fittings dangling).etc.

Near the Winter Gardens
Very shoddy rooms beds falling to pieces/cheap furniture very aged proberly new in the 60's and never updated since basically everything.

Staff were friendly. Breakfast was good
The room was a bit small. Room where not clean. Although there was a lift it was not in working order and we had an attic room. Towels where not changed.

The room was not cleaned,we bought our own milk, the sink was hanging off the wall.

it was very near the train staion so we did not hav 2 walk 2 far also it had a bar n snooker table
room was a little on the small side room was bi dull and old fashioned that may be becausei am young.

the hotel was basic but excellent value for money located only a few minutes walk from the shops and nightlife!
the only downside to the hotel was you could hear people talking in the adjacent rooms

Breakfast was served very quickly & a good meal other than that nothing!
Met at reception desk by a very scruffy overweight man ( not very pleasant) the bedrooms were disgusting if it wasn't for the fact that they had my bank card details we would have turned around & walked out!

Firgrove Hotel, Blackpool commentaires"We stayed just one night for a concert. The owner was great fun, chatty and really helpful-changed our room from double to twin happily. I found it easy to park on the road 5mins walk away, may be more difficult in summer but thats the same for any place in a good location. Breakfast was great, relaxed self service with as much as you could eat. The room was a decent size, I'm sure you could find equal or better value if you drove about and took a chance but we wanted convenience. I'd have no problem with going back.Thank you and good luck with the gambling campaign." (2872592)
Room, bathroom and sheets all felt nice and clean. Great location to walk to Empress Ballroom. Radiator control in room so you could have as much heat 24hrs as you want. Plenty of clean towels and soap. Shower was hot and powerful.
On-suite shower room ceiling tiles were a bit damp but this didn't bother me.

Generally the hotel could benefit from some updating however you do get what you pay for - and we were happy. Pretty realxed atmosphere at the hotel. If you're just looking for somewhere to put your head down (and you're not too fussy) this is perfect. Maybe not so suitable for a romantic or luxurious weekend away!!" (2947635)
Cheap & Cheerful - Couldn't ask for much more for £20 pp
General Modernising and decorating etc bathrooms could have been nicer - but were generally clean.

It was in a good location and was good for the price we payed
A toilet that flushed properly would have helped, as would having the ceiling repaired.

"We were staying as a group of all male friends and our expectations weren?t too high. We wanted somewhere to sleep, wash and have breakfast and that's what we got - just. If I'd been with my wife and children I wouldn't have stayed !!" (107455198)
Buffet breakfast was very good. Location suited us. Waitress @ breakfast was helpful, friendly and couldn't do enough.
Really dated and quite grubby. Needs a good update and clean.
