The staff were friendly enough. The bedding was clean. Overnight parking was useful. Breakfast satisfactory.
The hotel is undergoing refurbishment - looks like it has been for quite some time. The room was very basic, poor furnishings and decor. Damp marks on walls and ceilings, stained carpets. En-suite was newish but had no extractor fan. Noisy nightclub/bar opposite. Late night returnees had no front door key so doorbell was rung constantly throughout the night.

There are 2-3 separate blocks within the hotel, we were given the most run down and old block,there were works to be completed in that block,smelly bathrooms et al.It was also adjacent to a pub that played loud music all night long. The block adjacent to the reception is good but for some reason we were not given that block inspite of reaching there at 5pm. If you want a cheap place to stay with reasonable links 45 minutes travel(bus and tube) to central london go for it it doesn't come cheaper but if you are turned off by poor quality of rooms/facilities stay away. The staff serving breakfast were extremely polite,the quality of breakfast (except for charred rubbery bacon) was good.-(asian family of 5)" (108123582)

Breakfast ok and kitchen staff friendly
The curtains were hanging off the track rail and impossible to close fully, bathroom smelled of damp etc, floor tiles loose in bathroom, shower impossible to control, room very dated and scruffy looking.

Room certainly cheap enough, breakfast ok, easy parking
Very small room 11 foot by 10 foot with a wardrobe, chest of drawers and double bed, not a lot of room to move, access to one side of bed only, no drain release on sink so couldn't empty the sink, poor TV reception, tea bags and coffee sachets just left on a tray, two bath towles but no hand towels

The staff at the reception were extremely helpul and pleasant,the go beyond the call of duty.
The tv in the room has a really bad reception The breakfast should have more varieties at least having the choice for eggs(boiled,scrambled..)

Good value for money. Clean comfortable room. Big breakfast next day to fuel us up for return journey home. We used the hotel as a stopover after attending a funeral in the area.
Lacking in atmosphere as we appeared to be the only guests in the hotel during this particular weekend. Situated quite far away from main tourist attractions.

Bathroom was in excellent condition.
Bedroon in poor condition. Cables trailing across floor. No hairdryer. Breakfast in another hotel, which we missed. Breakfast ended MUCH too early - who wants to get up for breakfast which finishes at 9am on a Saturday morning, in another location. MADNESS!!!!

The hotel room was clean ensuite was excellent staff very polite and helpful. The english breakfast was very good. Would stay again
T.V. colours and the reception wasnt good tried for ages with the internal areial but with little success

dirty carpet, room with unpleasant smell,small bars of soap in bathroom had previous users ,toilet had been used and not flushed by former occupant,no bedside light and only bare bulb hanging from ceiling,shower usless.

Banks Hotel, London commentaires"The comments made here are from the group in general:- There are 6 car parking places outside the hotel, if all are taken, when you check-in, make it known to the receptionist, that you require alternative parking and after check-in is complete, you will be shown the alternative parking area. 24 hour reception is great. The staff were generally very helpful, very pleasant, and they added to the enjoyment of our stay - thank you very much. Great breakfast, room nice, just sort those showers out please. Bed was comfortable, tea and coffee making facilites there and bathroom was clean. " (97677677)
Hotel very clean and tidy in general. Very good full English Breakfast with Cereals and a choice of fruit juices which all of it was totally delicious of one of my friends in the group really got stuck into. The room we stayed in on the first floor was a bit on the small side, however it was comfortable, cosy, and had plenty of open windows, so had plenty of fresh air coming in over this very warm weekend. Bathroom was very nice. Price was very reasonable too.
Shower was a nightmare to operate, one minute scalding hot, the next ice cold. I think it might be either thermostat or water pressure problems. The waitress serving breakfast was found to be quite "off-putting". Almost arrogant and very short one minute and almost polite the next. Must have been a bad week for her I guess......

The check in process was very good. 24X 7 check In was an additional advantage. Only 1 day notice for cancellation is a bonus. Daily tarriff is very nominal.
Rooms are a bit small. The cook and the lady serving the breakfast appeared non-freiendly or like an instructed robot ;-)

Request for extra pillow politely refused. Tiny room, bed against wall, very uncomfortable. OK if young, fit and frisky but otherwise very difficult to get out of bed to switch off light which was round corner. Furniture pre-war and lovingly inscribed with Faruq loves Shasta. No access to hairdryer point and mirror at same time. TV on indoor arial which had to be placed on floor to get any kind of reception which caused a hazard when climbing out of bed to reach the light switch. This was room 24. Others may be better. No front door key, had to ring bell and wait for someone to open it.

However the morning i was due to arrive the hotel tried to take payment from my card due to them having an incorrect card number rather than phoning me to check the card number they cancelled my room and booked it to someone else without telling us. Parking appeared to be restricted to a small number of spaces on the front. A minor language barrier with staff, but nothing that patience and a smile couldn't overcome. You get clean and basic accomodation at this hotel, and for a respectable price too; just don't expect too much." (97525688)
Easy access to Ilford train station and commute to my required destination.
Front door bell woke me a number of times, as I was on the ground floor.

"The hotel was being renovated so an allowance has to be made, however there was no hot water in the rooms at first, no central heating and the room was damp. I am sure that when work is completed, this will be rectified. The bathrooms have already been completed to a high standard but curtains would be nice. Breakfast however was excellent." (108154807)
