Excellent home cooked food. Excellent hosts and staff. Made to feel very welcome by the regulars and everyone we met. Charming surroundings set in the countryside.
Traffic noise in front bedroom starting early morning. The hotel is on a main road.

Good location for access to event I was attending (Great North Run). Fab food. Lovely, helpful staff.
TV in room not working (staff did say it was sometimes tempramental and offered to come and fix it but we never got round to it!) Not the most up to date decor.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Good breakfast.
All the bathroom sealant was poor. In my colleagues room his bed was too short for him and the shower didn't work. A lot of noise from the road. Evening food was overcooked.

excellent service by staff. Polite, nothing was too much trouble.
I had to pay again for the room as hotel manager could not access my payment via the original booking. I may have typed in the wrong card number for which I apologised. If I am not at fault and I have paid twice I will expect one payment to be refunded as soon as possible.

Good food and wine, Breakfast beat many, by a country mile, to those in five Star hotels. Good parking and will stay there again.

Warm welcome from the landlord and his staff. Excellent food - breakfast enormous !! Good location for visiting Durham and surrounding area.
Hotel bedrooms need updating/decorating as they are a little shabby.

The welcome at the Three Horseshoes Inn was superb and the staff were excellent and so very helpful. The Sunday Lunch was absolutely superb, excellent value for money, and judging by the full house, very popular. The proprietor was an excellent host and a pleasure to hold conversation with, as were all his staff. The breakfast was superb and was plentiful.

The room that I had was large, comfortable and en-suite, the hotel is an older property so it is not all shiny and new but the room had character and was very clean." (107260362)
The staff were friendly and helpful, the welcome was amazing and I felt that they would do anything in their power to help me out. It had a very friendly feel, more a home from home than a hotel. The food in the restaurant was very good and clearly freshly cooked.
NO REAL BAD POINTS, it is situated on a main road but this was quiet and so not a problem. There are quite steep stairs up to the rooms but I am sure you would be helped in any way needed. I did not need, and therefore did not ask, if there was alternative access.

The room had a smell of stale smoke, obviously a hangover from the pre-smoking ban. The shower was useless, and the holder was broken. We asked for poached eggs for breakfast and got fried eggs - there were only 4 people having breakfast so it was not difficult to get it right. The breakfast was very greasy.

Very relaxed, everyone very friendly
Room was a little cold but soon warmed up when we put heater on !
