Hotel secure. Clean and spacious. Check in and out times good.
Lighting in rooms is low. However, I understand this would be for enviroment reasons. As I am registered partially sighted it did give me some problems with reading through my presentation material.

Room was basic but clean, and generally in good condition. Staff responded promptly to replace a failed light bulb in room.
Room poorly lit. One of the lights in the room didn't work, but even with the light replaced, it was still really not adequate.

Hotel Clean and tidy, Bed linen and towels very clean ,good continental breakfast Staff friendly and polite
the only lights that worked were in the bathroom and the two bedside lamps the kettle had to be held on its stand for it to work

Excellent security - outsiders could not gain access to hotel rooms, which is something my wife always considers when travelling on solo business trips.
Slight noise from city ring road close by. Not easy to find the entrance to the hotel car park.

Hotel was in immaculate condition (including bathrooms, which I've found to be very variable in other hotels), staff were friendly and helpful, the location selected for the hotel was great, providing a wide choice of places to each and be entertained right on our doorstep.

reservation made through active leisure was not confirmed at the hotel and active leisure were not able to help in any way, therefore I would have been better going straight to the hotel and avoiding wasting time ringing active.

They give me a disable and smoke cold room for the first night, I request for other room in the second morning, they got me a room on top floor, it was warm clean and good view, the lady staff was nice and helpful.

The room was so cold as the radiator had been turned off, baring in mind it was one of the coldest days we'd had and there was a think layer of snow outside. The room did not warn up until the morning, I had to sleep in my clothes and get an extra duvet. I could not be moved as I was told the hotel was full. I booked for a double room (double bed) and was given a 2 singles beds, eve though my booked stated double!

Clean Room
Bad internet connection, tried ringing reception who put me through to a helpline that could not help or understand the problem. When checking out I was asked to pay for this call and I refused as I had not been informed that I was being put through to an external number.

Generally very good through out.
The hotel was unable to cope with prepaid rooms and transfer of information to staff and systems this part of booking in and out was extremely poor and caused severe frustration.

We were allowed a discount on two of the restaurants in the area - there was a good cinema in the same complex. The continental breakfast provided lots of choice as much as you would like to eat. The staff were very helpful. It was basic but of a good standard - all that was needed for a comfortable stay. I will use this hotel again next month." (97829306)
It was clean tidy enough room comfortable bed friendly competent staff. Walking distance to town and railway station. Excellent value

Tea/coffee making facilities in room Staff courteous and helpful. Breakfast buffet more than adequate. Very quiet room despite overlooking a busy plaza and across road from bus/railway station. 4 restaurants on plaza (As we were leaving, we saw a notice in ONE of the hotel lifts that the restaurant we had used the previous 2 nights gave discount to hotel guests!) If arriving by train/bus, turn right on exit from station. It is not obvious which way to go and an hotel sign at station would have been useful." (97858439)

Efficient and friendly staff. My room provided an excellent view of the city skyline. The room was large and comfortable. The near-central location enabled me to visit the key tourist sites easily - the Cathedral and the National Media Museum were both within easy walking distance.

Bathroom modern, clean and in full working order. Bedroom quite big. Hotel site very handy for Main Train and Bus Station.
Our room had very poorly coordinated furnishings/decor, although other friends said their rooms were well decorated. The lighting was very dim in the room. It would have been very useful to have a bright light other than in the bathroom.

Very Clean and Tidy.
Not enough coffee, sugar and milk - 1 cup is not enough. More than 2 pillows on a double bed.

hotel was clean, and had a friendly feel about it. the en-suite shower room was very nice
had to ask for extra pillows 4 times before they were brought up to the room. the room did not have air conditioning, therefore the room was too hot, and the bed sagged in the middle.

The internet booking was not confirmed by Active Hotels to Holiday Inn. This involved a few telephone calls between myself and the hotel, prior to arrival. The check-in procedure was a lengthy process as the hotel struggled to find my booking-I was not impressed!
