A nice hotel, but this was a treat for my fiance's birthday and the bath was a key feature. A real shame they couldn't resolve the problem as we were only there for one night. Lovely hotel, setting beautiful, staff friendly, good food.
Booked into bridal suite for spa bath, when we turned on the spa bath it filled with black lumps. Phoned reception and they came up straight away. Cleaned out pipes whilst we were out but the problem continued.

Nice quiet environment in the countryside. Cozy common areas. Comfortable bed.
Probably the worst in-room decoration of any guesthouse i've ever been to. I actually took pictures for a laugh: every single item was both ugly and unpractical, from the 10" TV dated 1936 to the bedside lamps, etc. The restaurant was fully booked due to 2 events and we had to order room-service which came out wrong. The staff was not overly friendly, compared to other guesthouses, apart from a really sweet girl (Monica?) who was kind enough to bring us our breakfast in the room on sunday. Too bad there was no table to put it on...

Very obliging staff. Food good and well presented. Position good.
Only problem was finding it as the main road was closed and we had to ring to find how to get there - but it was well worth the hassle!

The room was fantastic and the young lad who checked us in, carried the case up to the room, served us at the bar, took our meal order and served our meal was such a nice pleasant and careering young man. The meal was of the highest quality as was breakfast.

Cameley Lodge, Keynsham commentaires"The accomodation was of an excellent standard. I was upgraded to the Bridal Suite...! Location was very attractive with pleasant country views. I felt that the personal touch was there which is the reason I choose smaller family hotels were possible. The food was exceptional value for money and far more than I could eat. If I was being picky I would have to say that the steak I ordered was not cooked to my requested taste but the rest of the food was so good it would have been churlish to criticise. I counted 10 different veg that were provided !!" (97848352)

Minor criticisms would be:- 1) We arrived when it was raining quite heavily and keen to get inside from the car park quickly and clear signage for reception/entrance was not apparent. 2)When enjoying an aperitif in the bar area we were quickly surrounded with a coach party arriving for an evening funtion and we felt to be in their way as they tried to find somewhere to put their coats and also to sit." The quiet location complemented the overall relaxed feal of the hotel.The food was excellent.
The lack of seating when a function was in progress. The overall ambience of the Lodge would be complimented by a better choice of draft beer (Bitter).

an attractive and well presented hotel in pretty surroundings.all well furnished -my wife particularly enjoyed the huge bed as I could not pinch all the room.
the signpost to the hotel in the village is completely obscured by a 30mph sign when approached from the south.

Comfortable, well appointed room. Welcoming staff. We felt at home despite only staying overnight. Staff were helpful and accomodating.

"A general lack of attention where it should matter and unjustifiable, and undeliverable pretensions of grandeur to what is essentially a small, basic hotel." (108412120)
Clean
The room claimed to be furnished to the standard of a three star hotel, but was more like a student flat. The food was presented as if we were to be treated to a "fine dining" experience, but the ingredients were of variable standards – sculpted rose-shaped butter pats, but served with factory-made soft bread rolls that tasted of lighter-fluid. A 12oz rib-eye steak, of which at least 3oz were inedible, served with an over-fancy salad that included kiwi and grapes. All of this was accompanied by interminable and unwelcome piped musak. I think that exemplifies the problems of proportianality that beset this place.
