Unfortunately i had a death in the family so i had to book out before satying for the night. Although i wasn't going to have breakfast the following day i was still charged the full price.

room, bathroom, location of hotel, efficiency of staff, breakfast.
dinner - cooking style, especially sauces, all rich and creamy. would have been nice to have a choice of plainer food. choice of fruit salad for dessert would be appreciated.

The room could have been cleaner (thick dust on a ventilation grill, dust and rust on the pipes under the basin); also had paint peeling off the ceiling, and the balcony had not been touched, there were cigarette ends on it and paint peeling off the railings. on a positive note, the food was excellent; we ate in both the bar and the restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed all our meals. The hotel was also quet andpeaceful and is in a lovely location." (108212154)
Excellent food, attractive location, some friendly and helpful staff.
Hotel a bit shabby and run down, no glasses/cups in bathroom, some service very slow, some staff not very helpful.

Nice hotel in good location. Breakfast was good but could have been served a bit hotter on day one, fine on day 2.
For what we paid it was good, however if I had to pay their standard fees for room and meals i would be disappointed. The food served was good for an average hotel but with the setting they have they could have done so much more and the list prices are not justified for what they offer.

Restaurant was good
Bedroom was appalling. Toilet seat and cover were broken. Cistern handdle hanging on by a thread. No glasses for teeth cleaning. patio was dirty and awful chairs had not been cleaned and cigarette ends all over the place. very disappointing - would not stay there again.

Friendliness and helpfulness of staff -especailly late at night. External surroundings of hotel e.g nice lake and gardens.
Hotel corridors looked dirty, needed painting (especially doors) and some smelt bad.

At the Buckatree we booked 3 double rooms 1 for my husband and I and 2 for our daughters and their partners. Breakfast was the best at the Buckatree the staff were so on the ball and attentive, I think the managers in there were French and were brilliant and jolly too. The food was excellent the freshly prepared fruit salad for starters impressed me, cereals and fresh fruit juices, and an excellent english breakfast where you could choose exactly what you wanted.Could'nt fault it." The manager on reception was extremely helpful when we realised we had to find a local shop for something we needed, he promptly took me there and back in his open top sports car, you would'nt get that sort of service at most hotels ! The rooms were very clean and the beds were lovely and comfy, Ive never slept in so long.
None really although some of the rooms could do with updating with the decor and showers etc as ours kept going hot and cold but nothing you can't put up with, I suppose if they modernised all the rooms then the price would go up dramatically as there are so many rooms to do, so we were happy as it was. Good value.

hotel is shabby! Room not clean..merely surface clean. Restaurant ambience efficiency on first night poor.....second night much better Attention neede to details e.g no soap despite requests ,TV remote did not work. Fawlty towers as opposed to well functioning Towers. The Hotels position and setting does not compensate None of the rooms had net curtains privacy meant lights on and drapes fully drawn. No directory of Hotel facilities in rooms or directory of local facilities. 3 tar rating (AA) perhaps needs re-assessing. Could not reccomend ....sorry....However the area i.e Ironbridge spectacular.

Still looking for them.
Reception poor did not give any information you had to ask times of meals etc. advised evening meal not available even though booked it to quote may have a table about 21.00 but kitchen is closed. Restaurant for breakfast a disgrace restaurant manager did not know what was going on. No desk to wait at to be seated tables not cleared, when they where cleared no clean cloth put on very poor choice for continental breakfast, english breakfast cold, sausages had a very funny taste. You had to keep asking for toast as you only go 2 rounds of bread for 2 people.

Just 5 mins off the M54 located in woodland overlooking the Shropshire country side. Staff are welcoming and eager to please. The rooms while not overly large are clean and well laid out. The Restraunt menu although small was imaginative and the food was well presented and delicious, a great dinning experience.
Water pressure in the room was not very good wich meant that the shower didn't opperate very well. The Bar-person on duty the night of our stay didn't seem to know what he was doing and managed to charge a bottle of wine to our room that we hadn't had.

clean bedding, curtains and carpet in bedroom. good location
Tatty furniture, wery worn chairs in the bar area. Badly worn carpets near reception. Phone not working in bedroom despite being reported. Shower knobs and extractor fan urgently need attention. Tiles on balcony a discrace as are the balcony plastic chairs !!

staff in reception were friendly, the overall apperance of the hotel on arrival was pleasant.
requested via the door requests light bulbs for two lights we did not get them. Your in room info made a big comment about being "children friendly" and having childrens menus but when we came to dinner there was no mention of this and a issue was made by a member of staff saying "the chef would allow my son to eat in the restuarant and and have something from the bar menu". There was still no mention of a childrens menu. service was hap-hazard we waited over half an hour for drinks, had to order the wine 3 times because the wine was not in stock. The resturant was not busy at this time, your staff did apologise but this seemed there normal attitude to the situation, breakfast was no better.

Staff and food both excellent.
The room and many other parts of the hotel require a complete refurbishment, there were no bedside drawers and the bed was extremely uncomfortable. The main chest of drawers was broken (top drawer).

The Receptionist and Duty Manager/Restaurant Manager were excellent. We loved the room with the balcony, super view from the hotel grounds and rooms. Food was excellent value at 3 courses for
On the first night the female bar staff slammed the wine into the ice bucket without even opening the bottle let alone pour it. Two nights we didn't get our appreitif or wine until after the starter was served, so the third night we asked for it before we placed our order. Hey presto, we were all happy!

Good value. Mostly very helpful staff.
One of the restaurant waitresses on Wednesday 3 Sep was particularly surly and was obviously in need of training. We had to ask for commodities which were readily supplied spontaneously on previous nights, eg Rolls, water.

Friendly staff, easy to check in and points were recorded on check in such as no feather pillows.

Staff were helpful and enthusiastic.
Damp; peeling wallpaper; radiators did not work; disorganisation with kitchen/meals. Some staff require better training. Even though it has a large number of rooms they should be inspected more frequently, by staff, for defects and malfunctions.

Comfortable room. Good food.
Bad plumbing. Loose toilet, not fixed adequately to wall or floor, could have been dangerous. Very poor flow of hot water from shower, not enough to wash hair or shower properly. Toilet roll holder very loose. Reported all these points on first morning of our stay which was Sunday, but as we were only staying 2 nights nothing was done about the problems.

Nice clean hotel in excellent rural location. Clean and functional room and nice bathroom. 15 min drive from Telford and well signposted. Nice bar and resturant. Friendly professional staff who try hard to accomodate. I unexpectedly had to work all night and arrived back at 8am and the receptionist offered to ensure I wasn't disturbed. 11am checkout was very good too.
TV flickered and could not find the remote - though i'm sure reception could have sorted that. It took over an hour for my bar meal to arrive (though staff did chase it several times). There were a few items on my bill that weren't mine too. There were no arguments refunding them though.

Lovely room overlooking the lake. Food was delicious and beautifully served and all staff were wonderful. We shall definitely visit again.
Ventaxia not working in bathroom and toilet took more than one flush to clear completely but didn't spoil our stay at all.

poor standard of decoration in hotel corridors and bedroom (water leak stain on bedroom ceiling; motorway traffic noise could be a problem in the summer with open windows.

Staff very helpful when we had to change rms, as the rm we requested wasn't available. Young male receptionist very helpful over the incorrect bill on the last morning.
Outdated,unmatched furnishings, bedhead needed a good clean. Overall the photo on the brochure quite deceiving. Would not recommend to friends. Dirty crockery left on table on lawn for two days. Reception/bar staff were (for the most part) totally disinterested. After the wedding on Saturday, the red carpet was left out - very rucked up. I tripped twice & so pointed out to reception that it was dangerous.The receptionist hardly bothered to look up & murmured that 'it would be seen to'.

I had a very large room with excellent ensuite and the breakfast facilities were also excellent
There were very few bad points. The only ones I can think of are the fact that every staff member I spoke to assumed I was accruing a bill when in fact I had prepaid the entire cost of my stay and the apparent unreliability of the computer system. It was actually out of action on the day of my departure.

the staff were ok, but there was a function and staff had been in before the evening who had never been there before and duroing the function all staff were doing the same job so you were served your meat than waited until everyone had that before the vegetables were served. this event could have been organised better.
When i booked i requested a double bed only to find twin beds when checking in. there was a problem with the beer chiller which did not appear to be sorted in the two nights we stayed.
