The staff were superb and friendly and the food was excellent. I thought it represented good value for money and St Just itself is a wonderful place to visit.
Thought there were areas that looked somewhat 'tired' (dining room in particular) and could have done with a little TLC but do recognise this takes time and money and far more important to have good friendly staff (which they do have)

the staff were very friendly, and the countryside spectacular
both rooms which we booked smelled of damp the clock tower outside kept going off on the hour and the bed was the most uncomfortable thing i have ever had to sleep on

The bar and restaurant facilities were adequate. Food was to a reasonably high standard.
the reception is not perminently manned and even though i was the only customer waiting it took me 15 minutes to check in. In addition, it took a further 25 minutes of waiting to be seen to check out the following morning before i gave up and left the hotel without checking out.

The Commercial Hotel, Penzance commentaires"Nice accommodation , spacious bathroom , food and drink were good and the family owners were very pleasant." (107943279)
The room was pleasant and airy, with tea making facilities - and although we didn't actually drink them the complementary drinks were an unexpected and pleasant surprise.
None - but you would not want to take a heavy suitcase up to the top floor alone as the stairs are very steep.

breakfast was excellent. staff friendly. wine included on the hospitality tray!
we must have booked this in a hurry as we thought it was in the middle of Penzance when in fact it was 7 miles away. our fault but check!

Cosy and welcoming
Given the 4 star rating we expected Sky TV. Shower couldn't drain down plug hole, shared this with housekeeping who were pleased to be informed.

The food was really good, the best roast meal we have tasted in years.The breakfast was also excellant,couldnt fault a thing.real value for money, we were surprised.

Sauberes Zimmer und freundliches Personal. Wir entschieden, einen Tag früher als geplant abzureisen und der Leiter des Hotels war so freundlich, uns die übrige, gebuchte Nacht nicht zu berechnen. Hervorragendes Essen im hoteleigenen Restaurant, gutes Frühstück, eine sehr gemütliche Kneipe vorhanden.
Zum Hotel selbst lässt sich im Grunde nichts Negatives sagen. Leider liegt das Hotel jedoch an einem sehr verkehrsreichen und daher lauten Marktplatz. Mitten in der Nacht torkeln besoffene und grölende Einheimische durch diesen Markt. Somit ist die Lage leider nicht optimal.

Luckily I had to call the hotel 2 weeks before staying there to see if they had another room. The online booking company had not passed on the booking and the hotel had no booking for me. Luckily they had one room left and the situation was rectified, but if I hadn't called I would have turned up after walking all day for 8 hours with nowhere to stay." (97663043)
The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Room very clean. Good fish pie.
The bathroom was too samll. The single bed in our room had broken springs, very uncomfortable.
