  The place is good, right in the middle of the city center.

  No view of cathedral from the window, as it promised. The air conditioner worked bad , with huge noise.

  "All of the staff were really helpful and friendly, the room we were given (although not the original room we booked) was huge with an amazing view of the Dumo. The room was right on the main street but we were not kept awake by noise at all. I would recommend this hotel and will choose to stay again if I return to Florence. The location is perfect for all of Florence's main attractions." (107792477)

  Excellent location for all attractions in walking distance to most. A Fantastic room with an amazing view of the Dumo, close to lots of lovely restaurants. Very friendly and helpful staff.

  My only negative of my stay here was the bathroom. I originally booked a room with a private bathroom 6 months before my stay but received an e-mail on the Friday before my stay to say there had been a mix-up and I would have an external bathroom across the hall. Because the bathroom was locked all the time with no window and little ventilation it was always very hot and almost sauna like so you didn't always feel refreshed after your shower.

  Albergo San Giovanni is very clean and very comfortable. I enjoyed the location of being right across the road from the Duomo, and although there were lots of tourists on the street below, the window in my room was able to adequately block out much of the noise. I also enjoyed using the small lift to carry me and my luggage up to the hotel. What a lifesaver!

  I would have liked to have stayed in one of the larger rooms as they have amazing frescoes on the ceiling, but hopefully next time i'll be able to afford one of those!
