Huntingdon House Hotel, Dumfries commentaires"My son and myself were in Dumfries for the weekend as my son was swimming in a competition there both days. Very friendly owners made us feel welcome and comfortable and the hotel was a short walk from the pool." (107745876)
We turned up at the hotel at lunchtime and were able to check in early and drop off luggage. Lovely breakfast.

Very good service and facilities. Very friendly.
I couldn't connect to WiFi. There is a known conflict with some laptops - mine was one of them! If you need to use WiFi and you can't connect call reception they will sort it for you.

We had an excellent nights sleep and enjoyed a tasty cooked breakfast in the morning. Shame we only stayed one night but we do hope to return in the future. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Breakfast times (until 9) and vacate room time (by 10)early for a Sunday, so not such a good place to stay for a relaxed weekend.

It is set back from the road in a peaceful location with ample parking, yet easy walking distance to the town centre. My room was immaculate - very clean and tastefully decorated with a rather nice leafy outlook! Although I didn't use it there was a bar for guests - my room was above it and I was not disturbed at all. Breakfast was beautifully cooked and there was a good choice of fruit, cereal and toast as well as fresh coffee or tea. I really enjoyed my short stay and would have no hesitation in booking this hotel again." (97550715)

My wife and I were celebrating our 50th Wedding Anniversary with a short holiday in Dumfries during which we renewed our wedding blessing over the anvil at the Olde Blacksmith's Shop at Gretna Green. The proprietors (Terry and Lynne Hawkins) very kindly gave us an unexpected gift to mark this occasion. We also were given many choices of places to visit on foot or in a car if further afield. We were wer advised as to places to have other meals and these were of a high standard. The breakfast was also good and catered for my wife's vegetarian requirements. We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay and will have no hesitation in stayng at this hotel again." (99100757)

The accommodation is clean and in very good order. We wouldn't hesitate in staying there again , my partner particularly enjoyed his cooked breakfast!" (99041007)
The hotel has been newly refurbished and is in great condition througout the rooms are lovely my 15 month old daughter particularly liked the homely touches - ornaments etc (which we had to move out of reach!!)

Also , on the day of our departure they provided us with a fantastic alternative route to our destination that took us through stunning scenery we would have missed otherwise." (99607966)

They went out of their way to make sure everything was to my liking. I mentionned that at home I put raisins in my porridge and the next morning there was a little cup of raisins by my plate. The room was spacious and very clean. The hotel was very tastefully decorated. There was plenty of room to park and the hotel is well located.
