Recently modernised rooms and bar/restaraunt area . Price OK but had to be paid in advance to get this price . Food quite good though not very substantial. Free Wi Fi/Internet connection
Was rather quiet, seemed to be as many staff as customers.

The food could have been much better, Breakfast was okay, it would have been nice to have a Toaster that actually toasted evevly both sides. We had a meaql on our last evening, my Chicken in tomato and pepper sauce with pasta was very greasy and I'm not sure what happened to the sauce, it was pracita.ly none existence, overpowered by whatever oil it was cooked in, unedible.

Very friendly staff who made us feel welcome.Nothing was too much trouble.Price of room was cheaper than nearby travelodge and included a cooked breakfast which travelodge does not.

convenient to find, room clean
poor parking facilities, at the time of booking we were unaware that there was a wedding reception being held there, resulting in disrupted sleep due to noisy guests. The family room was just a pull down double bed which then consumed all the space and was unable to use the dresser unit. The shower was v. low pressured and the hot water wasn't v hot at all. We had room service in the morning and the breakfast was cold, obviously we weren't expecting it to be boiling hot but cold was not acceptable, also certain cutlery was missing ie no spoons to eat your cereal with!

Pleasant room, good breakfast. Staff friendly and courteous. Position of room was such that despite a lively wedding reception, noise disturbance was minimal.

Hotel very clean,and staff was very friendly.
Restaurant!!!Had to send a meal back as it was clearly gone off you could even smell it,when brought back out it was just slapped on the plate,don't think it had been changed.very disappointed as the chef did not apologise and could not eat the meal.

A very quiet and comofortable hotel with good facilities. I have stayed here on several occasions over the past 15 years but not since you refurbished it. The evening meal was good, as was breakfast. We would have stayed a second night if we had not needed to be elsewhere.

Hotel excellent was contact prior to my stay to say that the Resturant was closed.
No on on the desk when I came to check out had to wander around the hotel until I found someone which made me late leaving.

This was my first time booking online and was suprised how easy it was. i was impressed with the room having an iron and board and a hairdryer. good to have hot drink facilities.

Room service first morning was very good. Hot food etc.Receptionist very helpful and welcoming.
Room service failed on 2nd morning. We then went to the dining room at 9-15 am and the food was lukewarm.

Exellent Food and service in the resturant.
I requested room service for breakfast by filling out the door card and placing it on the handel outside before 3am as instructed on it but nothing arrived ! I had no time to sit down for breakfast by the time I waited for this. Is this still an option in your hotel ?

The hotel room was exceptionally clean; everyhing was in working order, bedding perfect, equipment all brand new, layout of room and space excellent, was close to the railway station and the sports venue I was attending the day after
None that I could think of.

Possibly there may have been bus services to the town centre but the hotel had no literature on public transport, which bearing in mind the national desire to get people out of thier cars is quite unexcusable. Whilst I have ticked the 'No' box for 'Would you stay again....' the real answer is 'possibly', but only if there was a lift to the higher floors or a room was available on the first floor. I would not book on line again as understand better rates may be available if you book by telephone and you would be given the opportunity to check as to on which floor the room was located." Clean.
No lift and no-one to help with luggage up 3 flights of stairs. This is totally unacceptable. Whilst the food was of reasonable quality the menu was limited and would quickly become boring over a longer stay.

Nice looking hotel, quite contemporary
It took 5 attempts to get anyone to answer the phone for room service There was no menu for room service in the bedroom - I had to go down and get one and then the staff didn't seem to know which menu to give me When going into breakfast the waitress continued to have a discussion with another colleague whilst I stood around waiting The scrambled eggs at breakfast were disgusting - they were green/grey in colour - when I mentioned it to the waitress, she told me 'oh its just the tin that makes them go that colour - they are OK to eat' Room was on 3rd floor and there were no lifts - great with luggage!

Room was very well decorated. Staff were very pleasant and helpful
Doors of the rooms slam shut when guests let them go. Whilst appreciating the need for security, there could be an 'absorber' just before the closure, preventing the 'slam'. The rooms lack a certain amount of internal sound insulation. Conversation in rooms above could be heard. The entrance to each room is tiled, just like the bathroom. Heeled shoes sound like 'shots' as people enter and leave their room.
