Check in, food good
Telivision set in poor condition, shower installation poor, no valves fitted on towel radiator in bathroom could not turn on, wiring installation on bedroom lighting incorrect, carpet dirty.

Central location, although not dining in the hotel, what food we saw being served looked very good. Very friendly staff.
Sufficient car parking, kerbside at front was time limited and parking in the backyard seemed badly organised.

staff very friendly and helpful
very cold. I suffer from very bad arthritis and no fires were lit in the bar or main room. only 1 radiator on for the whole of the ground floor. Bar Manager kindly made sure the radiator was on in the bedroom before we went to bed and left a small heater in case i was still cold. However, the heating was not on when i got up the next morning and for a cold October day I was not pleased.

Check in was poor. After payment was received and room key handed to us we were given directions to room and that was it! Room floor uneven otherwise ok.

Good location
The owners of this hotel are missing an opportunity. The inexperienced staff are doing their best but the hotel badly needs "TLC" and management to improve on the services available - bar, restaurant, food quality, breakfast arrangements (This is the first time in my life I have found a hotel that doesnt have any marmalade). A very small investment in attention to detail could seriously improve revenues and financial returns.

The manager was committed to solving the problems we brought to his attention but unfortunately another room was not available and so nothing could be done. The price was the main issue - stayed in much hotels for the same price; would expect more of the room for £80 per night." (108330918)
Staff were very friendly and efficient; food was good in the restaurant and reasonably priced. Bathroom was clean. Location was good.
Matress was lumpy (springs were coming through); headboard was not secured to the bed properly; sign outside needed oiling - squeaked all night!; carpet did not look like it had been vacumed before our arrival.

Disappointed that requesat for quiet away from traffic noise never reached managedr. Not his faultg!REsult - very distured night.AAlso as a non-[smokedr alarmedd by heavy handwd threaT of £300 penaltry for evidence of smoking.Are yoiu sure this would be enfopfrecewBLe in court. I doubt it! NOT good public relations.

staff very attentive,and pleasent
in ythe advertisement it did,nt note not suitable for elderly people,we took my 87 yr old mother with us and there were just to many little steps up and down for her and a bit of a worry to us.

When we turned up at the hotel they did'nt have a reservation for us, but where given a room anyway. Luckily i had my booking confirmation with me which i had printed off the internet.

Heating took an age to work after two visits to reception, the shower was also only lukewarm. These things should be checked before the guets arrive

The general standard of the hotel and room were very pleasant and clean. The full English breakfast was very good.
Lack of parking, the hotel only has 3 designated spaces. Lack of facilities in the room eg. a chair, the only place to sit was on the bed, a table/shelf/mirror would have been beneficial. No hangers in the wardrobe. No shelving in the en-suite, hook on the back of the door, the towel rail was inadequate for 2 hand and bath towels.

wifi connection inadequate. restaruant staff slow and did not always understand request. room was cramped and very noisy and floodlit until approx 11.30pm

A horrble little room. one frosted glass window and no curtains so woken at dawn but couldn,t sleep because of extractor going all night.I never got round to serving my breakfast. others who came in later got theirs. so gave up and left before I got it.

Local services and locals very good.
The bar was shut! The Resteraunt was shut! I got a parking ticket for parking where I was told and when i asked someone about it i was told i had to sort it out myself!! Noeone seemed to know what was going on. My colleague's room was not even ready when we checked in at 5pm.

The room decor and furniture in particular was rather tired.The following items did not detract from my stay but I felt should not have been noticeable. Broken catch on wardrobe door;TV aerial cable looped loosly across the escape doorway and coiled up behind a chair which looked untidy; mirror on dressing table secured with blue tack and didn't rotate so that it was viewable; fan in bathroom didn't appear to work; broken tile around WC flush handle;I couldn't stand up in the shower without bumping my head on the sloping ceiling and I'm only 5ft8ins!

Staff were friendly and helpful. Bedding and towels were clean and fresh.
Furnishings in the room were "tired". Room equipment not as stated in hotel leaflet - ie no hairdryer or trouser press. A waste basket in the room would have helped when using the tea/coffee facilities. A lot of noise from outside - but it was a Friday night and we did have a room overlooking the market square.

How about asking Brackley antiques to sell/ loan you some whilst affording to upgrade the furniture. Staff were helpful in manner, but obviously stretched. Leaking ceiling in dining room did not enhance the visit, neither did the late disco on sat 29th, with noisy revellers under the bedrooms until 2.30 am. we had no knowledge that an event of this nature was going to happen so no choice given. Most difficulties are management problems rather than staff problems,better training and more support needed." (108041835)
the hotel was clean and well laid out.
Reception. Poor knowledge of parking, how to acknowledge waiting guests, under staffed, and very slow as a result. Breakfast was understaffed and it took us half an hour, plus two personal visits to the kitchen to get a second cup of coffee. We never received any toast, so you are making a saving on the butter and marmalade. A buffet style coffee/tea serving would be easier.

I would like to have known that major refurbishment was going on at the hotel. I would like to have known that the staffing level was so poor. One man ran the hotel by himself. I would like to have known that the restaurant food was simply freezer to deep fat fryer style. I would like to have known that the most basic items were not going to be provided ie. curtains, light bulbs, cups and saucers and running water etc." (97618097)

Clean and quiet, great location for music festival.
No house keeping is a bit poor for the price and no water pressure sounds petty, but wasn't much fun.

Staff made efforts for very early check in and provided changing rooms
Serving staff at breakfast most unhelpful. Was heard by another guest moaning when I asked for butter for toast, not impressed. Then made all guests leave room as she had to set up for a conference, wasn't particularly pleasant when 'ordering' us to leave.
