  The staff were especially helpful when the TGV we were travelling on was seriously delayed and we could have been too late to book in .....thankfully not the case. They also helped with taxi bookings for the Wedding we were attending. Liked the jams. Ideally situated for walking in and out of Chinon for evening meals ...plenty of choice while we were there.

  A very comfortable large room with excellent furniture and furnishings. Hotel set in a very quiet location.

  Bath could be a bit bigger!!!

  "The hosts were very helful with information about local sites to visit. The room was small, but very clean and quiet. My husband and I both agreed that this was the quietest hotel we had ever stayed in. The breakfast was excellent - especially their home-made jams and the local yogurt, goat cheese with honey and walnuts and apple juice. We would definitely stay at this hotel if in the Chinon area again." (99103440)

  "This is very much a family hotel, providing clean, comfortable accommodation in a quiet corner of town while still being within easy walking distance of restaurants and shops. The breakfast room is super, with a huge log fire, and the breakfasts just have to be tried: dozens of varieties of home-made jam, local yogurt and cheese and really delicious croissants and rolls. Everything is very authentic, with none of the flasher facilities of the big hotel chains, but this simplicity suits us just fine! This was our third visit and I hope it will not be our last."   "We chose this hotel initially because we thought Chinon would be a good small centre for touring the Loire valley-it was-and because Hotel Diderot was small and family run .What clinched our decision were the very complimentary reviews of recent visitors. This hotel is a charming oasis with special features like Laurent's wonderful jamsand its s good location within Chinon . We were really sorry we could stay only 2 nights" (2831808)

  "Because we were biking through the Loire Valley, it was important that the hotel be in town. This hotel was perfectly located right in the town, so that we were able to park our bikes and explore on foot, but it was also slightly off the main roads in a courtyard so that it wasn't noisy. This is important because our room didn't have air conditioning so we open the windows. The staff were wonderful and helped us locate amenities in town as well as recommending places to eat. The room was lovely with a very nice bathroom. The breakfast was one of the best we had with homemade jam and chevre to go with the standard croissants and baguette. Delicious! We would highly recommend this hotel." (2393233)

  The hotel is beautiful and very conveniently located while still being in a quite courtyard. It is the staff that make the hotel so wonderful; they were always very friendly and helpful. This was our favourite hotel on our whole trip!

  "This is a real gem of an hotel. The 15th century building is charming and the grounds are lovely. Breakfast is delicious with home-made preserves. The staff are kind and welcoming. Excellent value for money." (2175886)
