  Modern spacious room. Large double bed. Pleasant friendly staff. Excellent buffet breakfast. Easy parking.

  They used to have a citrus press in the breakfast room, so that one could have absolutely freshly squeezed orange juice, but this is no longer provided.

  I used the hotel as a base during the festival. The location (relative to the festspielhaus and the city) is good. The restaurant and the bar are opened until late after the day performance.

  Staff at the reception was very unfriendly and totally incompetent (did not even know the weather forecast for the day). A coffee-maker in the room would be welcome. The breakfast room looked a bit like a factory.

  Breakfast and lunch buffet excellent. Great value for the money. The ac was a real treasure in the heat and the rooms are nice size and very clean.

  Convenient for Festspielhaus, especially the transport arrangements. Convenient also for shopping in the nearby shopping centre. Reaching the city centre for site seeing on foot was also easy. Comfortable beds. Altogether an excellent hotel with a pleasant atmosphere.

  The design of the furniture in the room is very poor and impractical, especially the non-existence of shelves. Poor shower in need of replacement with one which spreads the water into smaller streams and is more adjustable and flexible.

  Very pleasant and well-prepared for the Wagner Festival - especially the movies, DVDs and videos from previous festivals that were screened in the lobby. Food was excellent and the daily brunch that was included in the room rate was wonderful. Staff in the bar and dining room after festival performances were well-prepared to handle the incoming crowds after 11:00 p.m.

  We enjoyed staying at the Arvena during our visit to Bayreuth for the Wagner festival. I would recommend the hotel as an ideal base for this purpose and we will definitely stay again. The staff were very pleasant, brunch breakfast delicious, room air conditioned and very practical - except for the absence of a wall dressing table mirror! However there were other mirrors in the room and these were quite adequate.The hotel transported us to the festival grounds each evening in a traditional vehicle - the ideal way to be noticed on arrival. We walked back afterwards - about 10 min but not strenuous. The hotel were waiting to serve drinks and meals after the performance - on our first night we did not attend a performance and watched them prepare for the hungry and thirsty audience to arrive! Throughout our stay nothing seemed to be any trouble for the staff and we were very impressed.

  The lack of a wall mirror at the dressing table would be my only criticism.

  A bit far from the center of town and quite a hike to the Festspielhaus, but walkable if the weather is fine.

  I stay in this hotel when coming to the Wagner Festival. It is very well organised for the festival. I enjoy being able to eat breakfast and lunch or 'brunch'. The extra things such as drinks before the bus takes us to the opera make the experience special. The restaurant is looking good and the menu is good value for money.

  I think it would be a good idea if reception staff were more informed about the activities of the opera house. I was given completely the wrong information about opening hours of the booking office. No one seemed to know that the system of ticket sales was quite different this year - the box office were not accepting return tickets and were advising 'sell on the street'.

  This hotel is very clean and comfortable. It suited me very well, as it is easy walking distance to Bayreuth town centre and also to the Festspiel Haus. I enjoyed my stay there.

  I did not feel that I received a very warm welcome. The receptionist told me that my room was not ready, but I could leave my luggage there. She seemed more concerned about this, than my needs. When I went up to the room, it was ready. That was my only complaint.

  Restaurant was very good (though the prices were much higher in the period of the Bayreuther Festspiele).

  Internet 9 Euro for 1 day! Restaurant closes after 14.00 until dinner time.

  1. We had difficulty in using the room access card and the receptionist had to show us how it works. You should supply an instruction that it needs to be pushed twice. 2. We could not work out how to use the shower and had to have a bath instead. We are senior citizens and it is not easy for us to get in and out of a bath. You should supply a clear instruction in how it works.

  -Nice big comfortable room. -Very nice breakfast.

  -Window treatments are not room-darkening. If you're sensitive to light in the morning, you may want to bring something to cover your eyes. - Room lacks a modern safe. -No washcloths provided (not a huge surprise in Germany but a hotel that gives itself 4 stars should have washcloths).

  The soap dispenser in the shower did not work; the reception staff in the evening were slow. The lady at reception in the evening was having a personal conversations on the phone, although there were two people waiting to check in at the reception.

  Ich habe ein Doppelzimmer zur Einzelnutzung gebucht im Internet. Das Zimmer war auch als dz zur Einzelnutzung ausgeschrieben..... ( Zur Definition: Ein dz hat für mich ein Doppelbett. Das ist der Grund, warum ich immer ein dz buche für mich allein.... Ich hasse Einzelbetten.). Dieses Hotel jedoch betrügt den Einzelgast ganz offensichtlich, denn in meinem gebuchten dz war das zweite Bett herausgenommen.... Ein Einzelbett im großen Zimmer.....es war grauenhaft und werde das Hotel nicht mehr bucht.

  Preiswerte Tiefgarage

  Wegen Grossveranstaltung (Sektempfang) war Lobby völlig überfüllt. Musik war nachts viel zu laut, Beschwerden wurden vom Hotelpersonal ignoriert. Beim Frühstück wurde kaum aufgefüllt, so dass man lange auf Brötchen, Käse etc. Warten musste.
