Lens is worthwhile stop-off in a tour through North-West France, with attractions in the vicinity that merit a visit, including the battlefields, La Bassee and Lens itself.
The historic capital of the Pas-de-Calais coal-mining basin, Lens was completely destroyed during World War I and was rebuilt during the interwar period. Much of the city centre was rebuilt in a particularly harmonious "Spanish-Flemish" style. Today the city is preparing for the arrival of the newest installation of the Louvre Museum.
To discover all that the region has to offer, the hotel is just 3 km from the town centre and 5 km from the train station.

Very accessible and easy to book. Clean and comfortable. A bath was welcome after a long journey
Third bed was just a mattress on the floor which blocked the way to the bathroom. Breakfast good but 9 euros per person was too expensive
