September 12, 2011This was a stopover so we didn't have much time to explore, but hotel was excellent, lovely location and our evening meal was excellent. Staff were very helpful and would have no hesitation in returning for a longer stay.

September 7, 2011Its a lovely small family-run hotel with very pretty grounds. The champagne is very reasonable and the food is superb. The staff are friendly and helpful. Good location for Champagne region.
Rooms are on 2nd floor with no lifts. Not a problem for us but my 78 year old father struggled up the two flights.

September 1, 2011The hotel is very attractive, set in pleasant grounds. Our room was not large but was comfortable, clean and quiet. The breakfast buffet was good and the evening meal in the restaurant was excellent. The staff were hard working and attentive. We would definitely recommend for an overnight stop.
Most of the rooms are on the 2nd floor and there is no lift which could be a problem for some.

August 2, 2011Le Clos de Mutigny is set in its own lovely gardens. It is easily accessible from the n44 and makes an ideal overnight stopping-off point if driving from Calais to the a6 and beyond. Its restaurant is superb. This is the second year in succession that we have used it.

July 18, 2011We stayed here as a stop off between the Alps and Dunkerque but it is deserving of a longer stay. The hotel is in a glorious position by the river, gardens are lovely and the rooms in the main house are comfortable and, by French standards, reasonably sized. The main event, however, has to be dinner. It was quite simply superb. Good food & fine wine al-fresco was one of the highlights of our holiday. A fabulous find!
Very little was wrong with the hotel. The only issue was us being placed in a twin room when we'd booked a double. We were, however, given free breakfasts to compensate so no complaints with the customer service!

June 26, 2011The quiet position
When we arrived we were told there was no booking. After some considerable time (approx. 15 minutes) we were suddenly allocated rooms with no explanation of why the confusion. The receptionist did not speak english and although our french is not fluent, we would have understood a simple explanation.

June 25, 2011The location was peaceful apart from the rushing water from the river. My husband said next time he would request another room. The Menu choices were excellent and the food really enjoyable - compliments to the Chef;

June 19, 2011Good location for crossing France. Helpful desk manager who located a repair garage for our puncture in the morning. Nice garden.
Could not find our reservation at first. We had a very small room this time (our second visit), limited facilities and not very soundproof as we could hear next door snoring....and they could probably hear us too! We had travelled 12 hours non stop to arrive at 23.00. Restaurant was still full of people but no offer of even a hot drink.

June 15, 2011The hotel was in a lovely location and has pleasant gardens
Noise - although described as a country hotel it has a weir next to it and we had the bedroom above it - had to close the windows all night - what with no air conditioning this became a stifling nightmare. Also on booking I requested a dinner booking which I assumed had been dealt with - turns out that Monday 13 June was a bank holiday and the restaurant was closed. Had to drive into Chalons en Champagne which spoiled the stay entirely as I couldn't have a glass of wine or two.

May 13, 2011Very pleasant staff, nice location, great outside terrace in the sun, nice atmosphere. Good restaurant, nicely served and presented dinner. Free WiFi
The bedroom was small but adequate but the bath had mould around the wall seal which is a real "put-off" and the shower head was broken meaning that you had to hold it with one hand whilst showering - difficult! We did report the fault and the receptionist wrote it down on a scrap of paper and said thank you. The window blind was broken too. We were in room 6 at the back of the hotel overlooking the river, good spot. However the noise of the weir was very loud and meant that the windows had to be shut all night and we sweltered! Needs some room maintenance before guests arrive - there really is no excuse for bath mould - disgusting!

April 20, 2011I picked this hotel because it was located not too far off from our route back from the Alps. What a gem it turned out to be; chocolate box pretty with really nice owners who obviously work very hard to keep things spick and span. We ate in the hotel restaurant which didn't disappoint with a varied selection from either fixed or a la carte menu'S. It was a Saturday and it seemed like the whole village turned out to eat in the Hotel, which always a good sign.
