August 6, 2011The location is excellent.
Our sommelier at dinner was chewing gum. Staff were often more concerned with chatting amongst themselves than looking out for guests.

July 16, 2011In the walled city. The room had a very pleasant sitting out area.
Very expensive at almost 1000 Euros for two nights. Expected a lot better. Driving in and out of the walled city was a real nightmare, not for faint hearted.

July 16, 2011Once you actually find the parking for the hotel it is a wonderful oasis in a very popular destination. The main restaurant produces some of the best food I have experienced anywhere. This hotel is a must!
Sorting the parking situation.

July 12, 2011When we finally found the Hotel de La Cite, it was an oasis of charm and tranquility situated in an historic city thronged with sightseers. Our arrival at the old city of Carcassone was rather fraught as it was extremely busy with cars, people and no apparent directions to find this hotel. After phoning, someone came immediately to collect us and our baggage and then parked our car. It was first class service. Also a concert that evening could be enjoyed by any of the guests in the hotel garden. Magnificent breakfast too!
It needed better signs to find the hotel and repeaters along the route.

April 24, 2011The location inside the city wall is unique. The staff are attentive but not overbearing. It's expensive but worth it for a special occasion in a special medieval city.
I couldn't work out how to turn off the alarm clock. Unplugging it didn't prevent it chiming at 7am!

August 25, 2011The actual hotel and location was excellent and beautiful, reception staff helpful and polite, pool side girl kiera was a treasure she looked after us very well and was so friendly.
The gourmet restaurant wasnt worth the money and the service was terrible by one member of staff in particular laure who was very rude to me when I pointed out my water glass was dirty she said 'what' in a tone that I shouldnt of been spoken to in whether her english was good or not I know what pardon is in french! We choose to eat there as it was my husbands 40th birthday when he went to leave the table to freshen up he was told to 'Stay' by her not please or anythign as our food was coming my husband left as her tone and manner had upset him so much she should not of been serving with her attitude wasnt impressed at all! We ate in La Parc the night before and the food was in a different league for the better.

November 1, 2011Luxury at a decent price. Friendliest staff encountered overseas (including pick up from the city walls in Carcassonne), the room was beautiful and set in the heart of the medieval city - what more could you ask for?
Nothing, was a great stay.

October 26, 2011It is integrated and inside La Cité Medieval. Beautiful like a movie scene.
The cleanliness isn't so good. There was a blue pill on my bathroom floor that remains there even 2 days after... And during my stay it was a part of an used manicure set beside the blue pill. The brakfast could be included...

October 12, 2011The central location in a walled city.It was great to be inside the wonderful old town
It was not truly a luxury hotel. It needed a a face lift, it was gloomy and tired.Over priced . The beds were not that comfortable, the room was cold as was the bathroom.

October 10, 2011All staff, including their excellent restaurant Barbacane, we had contact with were outstanding and created a warm and elegant atmosphere of "we'll take care of you".
Personally I think some of their hallways need a new lick of paint, but then again you could call that part of the charm of staying in a hotel within a medieval fortress...

The staff were very friendly and made you feel very special. The location is very relaxing, you are soon away from the hustle and bustle of the streets and tourists. We got upgraded to a junior suite because we were staying for 5 nights.
I thought the breakfast should have been waitress service and not help yourself in a 5 star hotel. Although the breakfast was good and the staff very helpful.
