  While quite inexpensive, Hotel des Princes was a very nice hotel. Breakfast was wonderful, with an array of Savoyard breads and cheeses as well as the usual croissants, jams, and Nutella (not to mention fantastic coffee). Every room had a different theme; ours evoked Southeast Asia. Also, the location was fantastic, just down the street from the castle of the Dukes of Savoy and within walking distance from a number of yummy restaurants.

  The website seemed to suggest that breakfast was included. It was not; however, at 8 euros per person, it was less expensive that many other options outside the hotel, and it was well worth the cost.

  The hotel was nice. The rooms - quite comfortable. The breakfact - quite sufficient, even though I am vegan. The staff very nice and pleasant.

  The smell from the nearby restaurant in the morning prevented from opening the windows.

  Good location in town, reasonably easy to find, secure parking nearby at the town hall

  The room was very comfortable and decorated in an individual style, very in keeping with the ethos of the region. It was very well placed, right in the centre of town and the staff were pleasant and helpful.

  The hotel has a great location in the centre of town. You can walk everywhere. The staff at reception were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble.The hotel is a small hotel with a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.

  location,staff where friendly,we only stayed overnight driving from tuscany to england so didnt spend very long in hotel. found nice bar nearby for evening meal and a cafe in morning for coffee and a croissant...

  no complaints, feels a bit faded, like many hotels bathroom feels a bit 70's

  Good location, friendly helpful staff, relaxing stop-over between France and Italy via Frejus tunnel. Chambery dead on Sunday night in August, not hotel fault of course!

  The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great. Very central location.

  The beds were not comfortable so didn't sleep very well. No air conditioning and very hot in the room.

  Excellent, friendly and helpful staff.

  Soft mattress with no support. Decor of hotel is old and depressing - dark red walls in narrow corridors.

  Breakfast

  Bed sheets were not clean, actually they had been used by somebody else before. The room had a double bed, with fresh bedsheets. The third bed was the one that had not been changed. The room had not been dusted. When we complained next morning about it -we could not reach anyone at night- the reception staff were terrribly sorry and tried to make up for it invinting us for breakfast.

  Central location. Good value. Friendly staff. Clean room. Quiet. Air conditioned

  We were on top floor. There was limited wardrobe/cupboard space. The bathroom in the loft area had no proper shower and there was some sort of pump ( I think for water ) that was a bit noisy

  The best thing of this hotel: it's location! It is very close to, pratically in, the old part of the city.

  What we did not like: poor breakfast (butter was gone bad! One croissant each after that you could have toasted bread), very small lift, the window of our room was in such a state we did not dare to open it... The receptionist was not one of the calmest and welcoming kind. Due to restructioning they should have offered the guests a special discount. Should I go on?....

  It's lovely furnished and carefully decorated which is kind of charming

  it's a really old building what you can see especially in the 7th floor under the rooftop and the sink stinks.

  Extremely helpful staff. Good location to overnight on our way to Italy. Lots of good restaurants and an interesting city centre to explore very close by.

  Top floor room was a little hot and airless - aircon would have been nice.

  Central old city. Close to station.

  Dust and in the bathroom. Smell of damp. Poor breakfast.
