September 22, 2011Rooms were noisy, you could hear people in the rooms all around using the wc. Poorly built new extension to the hotel. £15 taxi ride in to the city as the hotel is a bit way out of the city

July 28, 2011Nice and quiet location, luscious breakfast.
The staff did not speak english, no elevator, high prices for water and beverages, the bathroom and the window curtains did not work properly.

April 29, 2011The upgraded double room with pullout sofa was small but remodeled and clean. We were pleased it was 100% non-smoking. Staff was very kind and helpful.
Small rooms. Should include breakfast for the price.

September 20, 2011This Hotel supplied our needs for the one night we stayed. We were on a quick journey through France as part of a much longer european tour.
We were not familiar with the city or the railway stations and therefore picked the wrong hotel for the railway station we came in at however, it was good for the station we fom which we left.

September 19, 2011Front desk lady had a great attitude and was very helpful Gated location with the nice quite park, good food, and easy parking was a top seller for the very crowded Avignon.
If you don't have a car, this is not a good location since you need a taxi to go to city center and taxis are very scarce in Avignon to my surprise. One night we waited for almost 40 minutes to get a taxi to come back from the historic town to the hotel. This is not a reflection on the quality of the hotel, just on its location.

July 31, 2011Good for visiting Avignon. Nice pool and gardens. Clean, small & friendly. Rooms well designed. Staff helpful and supportive. God value for the city visit and the right kind of location for us, it being a reasonable walk from the hustle and bustle of the city and the off festival. Easy for getting onto major roads for day trips out by car. It was like having a 2-centre holiday.
Dinner menu small and inflexible.

July 30, 2011The hotel is secure, within gated grounds. It has a dining-room offering breakfasts (expensive) and night dining indoors or either on the terrace or in the gardens. It has a lovely swimming pool which is secured by child-proof fencing, with lounging plenty of pool-side furniture.
The rooms boasted "Air Conditioning" but we found it poor, and were unable to get it cool enough for sleep. The room was also very small with barely enough room to leave a bag open. The small bathroom had a shower over the bath, but no safety (grab) rail.

July 25, 2011the room is big among french hotels, and it is clean, the facilities are good
the hotels has two floors, you need to carry baggage yourself by climbing the stairs;the biggest diadvantage is location,it is too far to center ville,we can only visit center ville and have dinner there by taxi,it costs 10 euro each time,so the location is not convinient.

July 10, 2011The setting with the garden
Room 12. glass door to the toilet is a bad concept. Should be a light over the mirror. Cupboards too shallow to take clothes. Menu was the same for the 7 days we were there.

September 20, 2011I chose this place because I was arriving late and needed to be near the train station. For this it was perfect. The rooms are a bit old but totally adequate. The public spaces were really nice. It is kind of in the middle of nowhere, kind of suburban office space or something (not sure). But you turn into the gate and it is like a little oasis with a nice lobby, very good restaurant, and really nice pool area. I never made it to Avignon proper and not sure how it is in terms of proximity but for practicality of the train station I love this little place.

August 10, 2011Very easy access to highways and tgv station. Easy access to Reception from parking lot and to rooms. Staff very friendly and helpful; spoke very good English. Published menu doesn't offer good option for a simple, light meal or breakfast, but staff was happy to accommodate us with pricing option.
For our needs, location was ideal. However, some travelers might prefer closer proximity to historic city center.

August 7, 2011the hotel was clean and tidy - the rooms were spotless and quite spacious. The staff were friendly and helpful, the location was within an easy taxi ride of the TGV station. In all, an excellent hotel.
Not having a lift was a minor irritation but we were only on the first floor so this was not too inconvenient.

July 5, 2011The staff were very friendly and welcoming and took a personal interest in us. Our room was beautifully laid out, very clean and again very welcoming. The food, especially dinner, was very good, and imaginatively presented. There was a good bus service into Avignon which we were happy to use. It was also nice to escape the city in the evening and relax in the hotel.
We were disappointed that, although bbc World was listed as one of the channels on our tv, we were unable to access this. Otherwise no other complaints!

April 27, 2011The manager and staff were very helpful allowing us to stay an extra day in a deluxe room (very nice!). All the staff were very friendly and considerate of our very limited French. The breakfasts and one dinner we had at the hotel were excellent. The facilities are modern well designed, and well kept. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to experience wonderful French hospitality.
The only drawback was distance to town but the bus (#3) runs frequently and a cab is only a few Euros.

October 23, 2011Hello The most modern hotel with parking arranged in an inner courtyard. The design of the rooms very nice large rooms and spacious. Very good relationship very gracious guests. Lobby design is very pretty too. In short recommend this hotel.
The only thing that bothers is the distance from downtown but you have a vehicle distance is not an issue

October 3, 2011Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is spotlessly clean and very comfortable. There is a lovely pool and garden area which the restaurant overlooks. Meals were very enjoyable.
We thought the breakfast at 14 euro was a bit overpriced; it was nice but not out of the ordinary.

September 29, 2011Staff very nice and helpful. Free parking, coffee maker and fridge in room. Very very nice room!!! Breakfast expensive but very good (great selection). Free wi-fi in room working very well.
We had to take the car from the hotel to Avignon (only a few minutes) but it is always nice not to have to pay for a parking...

September 3, 2011We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was very convenient for bus routes (Avignon has an excellent public transport system with very friendly and helpful drivers) and being a little way out of Avignon was peaceful and relaxing. All of the staff were friendly, helpful, spoke excellent English and made our stay a very happy one. The hotel was very clean, the swimming pool excellent and the food we had was very good quality. We would recommend this hotel to anyone. Well done Hotel du Lavarin
