May 5, 2011We found the hotel to be very quiet and peaceful. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. It is somewhat removed from the city center but convenient enough if you have own transport.
We had dinner one evening only and whilst we enjoyed our food the menu was perhaps a bit too sophisticated and more suited to an award winning restaurant. Not the fare for a hungry person.

The brochure proudly boasts that the rooms are kept at 24 C - it was too hot and the aircon didn't work

October 1, 2011The whole reason we wanted to stay there was to try the restaurant. The day we came, the resto was closed for a private function. Otherwise, we thought the place was overpriced and not value for money. On the same trip, we stayed at El Convent at Begur in Spain. About the same price yet great location, great food, great rooms, etc. Overall experience at Villa Duflot - Very disappointing!

September 18, 2011The hotel is located on the outskirts of Perpignan. A car is necessary to get around but you are within driving distance to the center of town with easy access to restaurants, shopping and sight seeing, and the beach is a short drive away. The mountains are also within easy driving distances. There is a lovely swimming pool flanked by an outdoor restaurant and a small but nice exercise room with treadmills, bikes, and other equipment that is open 24 hours.

August 10, 2011Although near the town off the motorway you felt you could be in the countryside. A little oasis, one of the nicest we have stayed at in the area. The hotel was very clean, had a pool (although deep) and the restaurant is of a high standard. We stayed after being in Argeles on holiday and we needed to stop at a hotel for 1 night on route to Airport. Staff were friendly, taxi for the airport ordered for us and arrived on time Sunday morning. Evening meal was excellent, huge wine list.
Breakfast was quite expensive (17euro) for continental breakfast. Although mini-bar in room no tea/coffee making facilities although not unusual for France.

August 5, 2011Quite pricey but you can see what you are paying for. We loved our room which was large, very comfortable and clean. All the staff without exception were helpful and most spoke English.
Prior to our arrival we had looked at the environment around the hotel on Google Earth. This proved invaluable as we had big problems finding the hotel on our second day. We needed to go back to the a9 autoroute and find it from there. Although there is another route to the hotel we ended going through the adjacent Commercial zone to find it. Handy if you want new tyres or shoes but we would not have thought of going that way without our Google Earth experience. Perhaps some signs - we didn't see any - to the hotel would help.

June 27, 2011The service provided by the housekeeping dept was very good with clean towels twice a day. The decor and comfort of the room and bed were very good. The breakfast although expensive offered a good choice.
The restaurant menu was limited although the restaurant appeared to be well used. The hotel caters for business functions both during the day and evening which on one occasion made it difficult to get served and therefore had to order drinks on room service. The room was a bit dark due to the courtyard layout. It would have been nice to have tea/coffee making facilities in the room. The hotel pool was located directly in front of the restaurant terrace.

Nice 'villa-style' building and lovely setting for the restaurant. Staff were very friendly and helpful but appeared a bit over-worked. Rooms are clean with good facilities and there is a reasonable amount of parking space (if you take the additional restaurant car park into consideration). If you have a car you are within a relatively short drive of the beautiful local beaches. The restaurant food and wine is very good but a pricey compared with other restaurants at the coast. However if you want to but some cheaper food, with a bit of effort you can find a huge Auchun hyper-market within a 5 minute walk from the hotel.
The hotel (apparently like so many in France) is situated in the middle of a trading estate and the immediate area outside the hotel grounds is not particularly attractive. There are also a lot of roadworks going on in Perpignan at the moment and it can be tricky to find your way onto the major routes out of the city from the hotel. As mentioned above, some staff (particularly on reception) appear a bit overworked and the sole receptionist, when we were checking in and out, kept breaking off to field telephone enquiries. Although the food is very good the evening menu is not particularly varied and if you stay for a week (as we did) you would probably not want to eat there more than 2-3 times.
