November 1, 2011Location
We couldn't turn the radiator down and so had to have the window open which meant we were unable to sleep easily due to the noise of the main road outside the window. There was no 'normal' tea in the basket (only Earl Grey) on the day we arrived - had to go to reception to ask for some. On the 2nd day of our stay there was no milk provided in the drinks tray . . . again, had to go to reception to get some. Found the staff a little dismissive.

October 30, 2011I stayed at the hotel to be near my husband who was having surgery in the nearby Nuffield HospitaL. So for me being able to walk to the hospital was why I stayed there
Most of the staff understood english perfectly but not all. At breakfast I had to move my table twice because of a couple having a business breakfast in loud voices and I needed to be quiet due to above. The radiator leaked all over the bathroom floor. When I asked for hot milk I was served cold milk. Money was taken from my account on arr by mistake £250. when I asked if the maintenance cd attend my room after I had left for hospital for the day, he came before I had gone,. There didn't seem complete awareness of one's needs.

October 19, 2011Convenient parking and location. (Although the last time we stayed here we got free parking. This time they charged us £8) Good sized room.
Bed very squeaky. Not enough pillows. Poor quality towels. Poor shower - flow rate very poor.

September 25, 2011Location to central cambridge for travel to colleges Room was clean and comfortable with plenty of space
The restaurant was appalling, the service was low class with poor communication, the waiter misunderstood our order but still charged us for his misunderstanding. Food was good but not excellent, but OK for cost. The TV service was disgraceful, the TV signel rarely worked despite someone coming to "fix" it, and change of TV set, was advised on our 3rd night that this was well known that the TV sets were old and not working reliably and there was nothing they could do ... did not offer any discount off what we paid and we did not get to utilise the room features for what we paid for due to the lack of ability to watch TV. Breakfast fruit salad was not all fresh with appearance like it was tinned fruit. The staff were not that friendly, were short when speaking to us, only a couple of helpful / friendly staff. No facility to do laundry and no laundrette nearby and was advised to pay for the hotel laundry service which was excessive for personal laundry that all we wanted to do was utilise a laundrette

September 22, 2011As far as I was concerned the best th9ng about the hotel is its location, as my business related to Peterhouse just down the road.
We had used this hotel some 5/6 years ago for a similar function in college.I Have to say that the hotel has deteriorated significantly in this time - perhaps due to its change in ownership. The 'dinner' had gone down hill - a bar menu being all that was available all day; the room we had was very poor. Cramped; narrow bed; curtain off its runners; carpet V. stained; bath plug loose etc. Clearly no one had inspected the room to check things were in order. No efficient housekeeper?

September 8, 2011The location was good, 10 minutes walk to the centre and not too far from the railway station (20 minutes walk). The hotel hall was nice and the bar was opened to hosts 24/7 (but we didn't use it).
The room was not very clean, especially the toilet, which was also old. It took a long time and many trials to make the toilet flush work. One of the nightlamp didn't work, the other was broken. The bed was noisy and too soft.

August 9, 2011The only thing I really liked was Alberto from breakfast. Really helpful person, really nice. The lady at the desk was friendly and helpful as well...
I think they charge to much for what it is, the room was dirty, the hotel is lovely but the rooms are not quite worth the value for money. And as a couple we asked for a double room not a twin and the hotel wasn't fully booked, so I don't really know what happened there...

June 19, 2011Central location.
Disinterested staff. Rooms in dire need of refurbishment. Breakfast very disappointing.

June 1, 2011The location is excellent - within easy walking distance of the city centre and easy to find when driving. As a single traveller I was treated well and the room had everything I needed. I have stayed there before and would stay there again - mainly for its convenience, close to colleges.
Some of the rooms need refurbishing - this time my room needed a new mattress, new wallpaper, etc.

April 12, 2011Reasonable continental breakfast. Very spacey apartment. Luxury towels. Parking for cars and bikes.
Ventilation. Air-conditioning seemed to only to recirculate air. Fan in bathroom did not work and was not fixed (admittedly a Sunday) Surrounded by main roads so noisy. We asked for a quiet room and this was the best they could provide.

January 26, 2011The location of the hotel was good and car parking facilities.
Price of the bar drinks were extortionate and measures were quessed; One member of your reception staff was extremely curt and unhelpful. We felt she was very rude in her manner towards our questions. Her name was Maria. We would like some feedback regarding her manner as it spoilt the start of our stay.

It is not good value for money. The standard is not as I expected for that price. The car park is not cheap.

January 14, 2012This is our 4th stay over the last 10 years or so. We like its location and comfort.
Tyhhe hotel is starting to look knocked about a bit with minor flaws. It doesn't look as if anyone does an overall pick list.

December 10, 2011Good location with parking available. Rooms had everything you needed.
Parking should be included in the price of the room. Rooms are on the small size. Customer service could be much better - having to find and pour your own luke-warm coffee isn't quite worth the price of £10 for breakfast!

December 8, 2011The location was good.
It was unfriendly. The bathroom was not clean. The radiator did not work and it was freezing both outside and inside. When I complained in the morning, they did not even apologise. The continental breakfast was ghastly. All the tables were covered in dirty plates. They cleared half a table for us! We looked at other peoples dirty plates and crumbs for the whole of breakfast.

December 5, 2011Staff in reservations, restuarant and reception could not have been more helpful both before and during our stay. Rooms were spotless. Location excellent for shops, King's College, Fitzwilliam Museum and Botanic garden and not too far from the Railway Station.
Heating problem in one of our rooms could have been fixed more quickly.

November 28, 2011I like an old fashioned hotel rather than a new plastic one.
Some net curtains in the bathroom and an extractor fan rather than just the window. We could hear the next door guests in the bathroom. We were told that breakfast ended at 10am but it ended at 9.30 Consequently we had to rush and the breakfast was dry and not really edible.

Nothing except the location was good.
Hotel is shabby and run-down, lift out of order, uncomfortable beds, grubby and stained carpets and décor, unappealing breakfast, stale. Understand that there are now new owners who are about to refurbish suggest checking this has been done before booking
