In the centre of Ambleside, close to all the amenities, Churchill Inn has modern, comfortable rooms, a good breakfast and free private parking.

Guests can choose a room with a bath and a shower or with just a shower. They all feature an LCD TV and tea/coffee making facilities and some have views over Loughrigg Fell.

Churchill's Grill offers a traditional menu. There are 2 bars: the larger Popular Bar and the more tranquil Monty's Bar with an open fire. Hot and cold bar snacks are served daily.

Churchill Inn is just 5 miles from Windermere Train Station and the nearest bus stop is only 50 metres away.

  Good.

  Rooms, food, service very good. Staff friendly and very helpfull.

  Our friends had room above bar. Very noisy up to midnight. We took dinner in hotel and were told we could not have coffee as football was on.

  Good apart from the parking situation

  Good location, not too expensive, good breakfast

  Very little parking!! This was particularly poor. Car park was so small that you had to hand over your keys if you wanted to park there, so staff could shunt cars around to let people out.

  I felt that the hotel was fine for what we needed. We spent little time in the room. It would have obviously been better if the shower had worked. Washing over the sink for a week is not ideal. The car park was small and on several occasions other guests and ourselves had to ask for other people to move their cars to get out. If you don't plan on moving the car once you have parked, and you are not in any one else's way, there is little problem with this. I feel that for a night or two, the hotel is fine and would stay again. If I was gong away for a week again like this time, I would look else where as there are many different places to stay over Ambleside.

  Large choice of food for breakfast - couldn't fault it. Central Location.

  Shower in the room did not work properly. The water was exceptionally hot and my boyfriend burnt his arm due to the temperature. Despite someone coming to fix the shower, it made no difference. Car park is small if the hotel is busy. With it being the bank holiday weekend, it was busy whilst we were there.

  I think there should be a healthy option at breakfast on offer. Doesn't really suit everyone to have a big fried breakfast. Pub could be a bit cosier.
