September 19, 2011The breakfast was very nice and the log fire had been lit in the breakfast room.
The first thing you notice when you walk in is a damp fusty smell especialy in the room we stayed in. The bed would benefit from some new pillows they had seen better days! The sink was so tiny in the bathroom you had to cup the water into the kettle from the tap as you couldnt get it in the sink to fill it. There was one tiny bottle of shower gel and a tiny peice of soap no face cloths and the towel rail was hanging off the wall. The tea and coffee tray was a poor show. Definatly the decor needed freshening up especialy in the bathroom and the carpets were dirty and marked.such a shame as it is a beautiful old building steeped in history.

September 19, 2011The fourposter beds in the luxury rooms are nicely presented, room no 3 has a wonderful starlight ceiling when the lights are turned out
Shower is poor pressure and bathrooms are cramped

July 26, 2011The fact that it was a disused and very old farm, so in the country, & quiet. The lovely breakfast room. The old fireplaces. The cosy feel. The attached pub (which we didn't have time to use).
We found the bathroom fittings unsatisfactory, and our room for two had only one chair and one towel, while having two cups for tea. There were several odd little things like this, including the need to use a cup to transfer water for tea to the electric kettle, because the kettle would not fit under the tap in the basin (which was minute itself). But overall the place was pleasant and met our needs. One of us would recommend ff, one wouldn'T.

June 26, 2011Right location for where I was going, and a delightful rural atmosphere.
Windows of bedroom all security locked, so no ventilation due to lack of key (or maybe to not knowing where to find). Too late when I noticed...

June 17, 2011Very quaint, lovely house, nice people. Indian restaurant is fabulous too!!
Bathroom is tiny and nowhere to hang towels or put toiletries, hooks would help! Room wasn't totally cleaned as we found previous occupants belongings in a drawer, and towels werenot replaced on the 2nd day. Just minor things though!

May 11, 2011The Indian restaurant next door was fantastic!
my brother had the luxury double....it was ok but lacking in the small things like hooks on the doors, vanity unit had paint peeling off,I had the family room,no chair,no dressing table,no mirror, only 2 cups between 4 people, half a toilet roll,no bath mat, shower didn't work properly. grout and silicone mouldy in bathroom,no hand towel, extractor fan didn't work, no shelf, only a small cloakroom sink,no hooks on the doors, bedding old and worn, carpet stained, breakfast mediocre,no milk on table at breakfast........and soil and vent pipe from lower rooms evacuates out side window.

December 19, 2011The room was lovely, bed was exceptionally comfortable. The dining room was stunning. I much prefer independent hotels to chains and I like the individualistic rustic approach, which the Featherstone did very well. The staff were polite and the breakfast nice. Well worth the money
Bathroom a little pokey and musty smelling, but not a problem.

December 18, 2011Good location for my business. Friendly staff Good Breakfast Beside a nice Indian Restaurant
Very creaky floors from guest in room above woke me up at 6am. Very poor towels in room - strugggled to dry myself using two at a time. Ironing board on request had seen better days. Difficult to find any other restaurants in local area other than attached Indian.

December 15, 2011Staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was excellent (not just good). Wi Fi signal was good.
I couldn't get any hot water from the shower - if I hadn't been in a hurry to leave I would have asked for help. I had a meal at the Indian Restaurant next door and although the meal was good the service was very slow - the issue being I'm not sure where else I would have eaten without getting the car out!

November 28, 2011Location, it was close to the village my mother grew up in. Breakfast was excellent. The Hotel was very clean and the staff helpful and obliging.
The floorboards of the room above ours creaked very loudly, if we'd wanted an early night we'd have been disturbed by it.

Room 8 shower control a nightmare, impossible to control temperature, cold water not balanced and as soon as "cracked" open backed down hot side. Should be rectified asap before some one gets scalded.

The farmhouse itself and the adjacent restaurant are beautiful 17th Century buildings, but ruined by artexing, PVC windows and furnishings which are not in keeping with the period. It could be really special if someone striiped it out and took it back to how it should look. Breakfast, however, was very good and the young couple managing the hotel were pleasant and helpful.
Room 0 was a twin room but no space to swing a cat! Just enough room to get round the single beds. No bath, just a shower. Tiny washbasin, so small it is impossible to fit the kettle under the tap. Bathroom ledges were dusty and the wardrobe had six useless plastic hangers. Not even a piece of soap. Bedstead obscures the TV. Lumpy, hard foam pillows. Come on!!!! You cannot be serious!!!! I would suggest that the staff try to stay in it for a night, watch TV etc. The only thing I can say is that it was a place to sleep for the night. It would be OK if that were the first bed and bathroom one encountered after spending 3 months backpacking around Africa. Then, no doubt, it would seem like luxury. Would not go back unless it were seriously upgraded in room size, furnishings and general comfort.
