The hotel's location makes it ideal for guests wanting to visit the many attractions in the immediate area or slightly further afield in Dorking or Guildford. Leith Hill Tower is Southern England's highest point and offers some spectacular, breathtaking views of the English countryside.
Polesden Lacey is also close by. It is a National Trust property and stately home where King George VI and the Queen Mother spent their honeymoon. Nearby is another National Trust property, Clandon Park, home to the Queen's Royal Surrey Regiment Museum.
Minutes away in the village of Dorking is England's largest vineyard: Denbies. Makers of fine English wines, they operate tours around the vineyards and have exhibition galleries and a fine restaurant. Dorking is also home to the UK's first country park, Box Hill, owned by the National Trust and designated a site of special scientific interest because of the rare orchids that grow there in the summer.
A little further away is historic Guildford, dating back to Saxon times. Home to several museums, gardens and tourist attractions such as Guildford Castle and Abbot's Hospital, the town has lots to see and do in addition to its fabulous shops.

April 27, 2011We will definitely keep this hotel in mind next time we are in the area and need accommodation.
Arriving at the hotel was a pleasure; check-in was very welcoming.
The room was overlooking the garbage collection point and th bed seemed awfully small. Breakfast was served in a conference room instead of in the front of the hotel (which would hav been nicer) because a large group (boy scouts) arrived and occupied the entire hotel that day. (We were informed about that on arrival.)

March 29, 2011Only stayed for one night and although the room was basic, it was fine for my needs. The pub is lovely and relaxing but a bit pricey for beer, the staff were friendly and the setting is excellent.
The setting is excellent, the pub/restaurant is light, comfortable and airy.
The pub prices are excessive, the room is extremely basic with a tiny tv with next to no reception. The shower could be deemed a health and safety risk as I could definately see someone slipping on the steps coming out.

March 31, 2011Staff were very very kind and helpful offering me a lift when there was no available taxi. Very much appreciated. Free upgrade to a lovely big room was also offered for a bargain price. Will definitely stay and again and recommend to friends and family.

March 22, 2011I very charming hotel set in a beautiful village and surrounding area.
Overall the hotel was very nice, the staff were friendly and very helpful. The room that I stayed in was clean and all in all it was a nice weekend break. The village og Peaslake is also very beautiful and the surrounding Hurtwood Forest is a great place to take the kids for a walk at this time of year.
The only bad point I can think of is the cost of the food, whilst every meal that I had at the hotel was very nice and the food cooked well I thought the overall prices of the meals were slightly more expensive than other places I had stayed.

Worth a special journey
Excellent food, service and attention. Very charming setting in a lovely village.
The annex room was a little cold when the heating was off & tv screen a little small for size of room. Otherwise all ok with very comfortable beds.
