July 25, 2011It's difficult to find something I like about this hotel. I suppose the car parking is convenient. The basic cleanliness is acceptable.
One of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. It was clear that the very junior staff had little training and even less motivation. There was no sign of a manager who could take control and make sure everything ran smoothly. The hotel had run out of electronic card keys, which is an amazing oversight in itself but they also mislaid the conventional key to the room which was booked for us. The receptionist, although friendly, had no clear idea about how to resolve the problem and other passing staff showed little interest in helping to resolve the problem. The hotel is obviously an older building that has been refitted at some stage but not to a good standard. The windows are the old steel, single-glazed type for example. Corridor flooring is extremely noisy when anyone walks outside the room - making it very difficult to have an undisturbed night's sleep with the creaking and cracking. The single glazing also adds to the noise problem.

July 22, 2011it had a car park. it was within our budget and travelling range for our excursion.
had a normal key as keycard was broken. clean towels were left in hallway and room not made even though we were out. floors were all creaking as if we were in an 19th century hotel. booked two, rooms which were away from each other and were not told. (travelling with two teenage boys). card machine didnt work on checkout so had to leave card details.

July 11, 2011All the staff were very friendly and very helpful
Compared to other Ramada hotels that we have used this one was a bit dated, rooms were small which was not a problem but no air-con as room was fairly warm, and the noise from other guests "slamming " their room doors was a little annoying seing as tho i went to bed at 10.30pm as i had to be up for a triathlon at 5am the following morning.

July 10, 2011The Indian Restaurant
It was disappointing because it had an air of trying to do everything with the least possible effort and cost. There was no soap provided in the bathroom and on the first night there was just one sachet of shampoo and that was all. There was a tissue box - empty. I waited 40 minutes for dinner on the second night and when it came it was awful. The teapot from which we had to pour our own tea at breakfast was disgusting. There was one old toaster which took forever to toast the bread. There was just no service or attention to detail at all.

October 19, 2011The rooms were very clean and nicely decorated, the service was excellent and the staff very friendly and obliging to all requests. I found the service charge on top of the price of the room service a little steep and uncalled for.
I had a problem with my credit card on reserving and was asked to pay for the whole stay up front with cash.....maybe it was for security purposes but I found the request a little insulting.

October 11, 2011Room was clean. Had all you would expect for the price paid - tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer etc. Staff were friendly. Room was cleaned well while we were out as requested. Nice and quiet on the Friday night. Close to bus link into Stoke. Didn't try the restaurant for dinner or breakfast but it smelt nice! It is not the Ritz but then I didn't pay Ritz prices to stay. I needed a cheap and cheerful hotel for a weekend break to visit family and that is what I got.
The beds seemed a bit hard but this is a personal preference perhaps. My bed was next to the window and I felt a bit cold but a spare blanket was provided. On the Saturday night there was a wedding reception in the hotel. The music did not keep us awake as not too unbearably loud and ended by 1am. However as our room overlooked front of hotel we could hear guests shouting and laughing as they waited for cabs and then slamming car doors until the wee small hours.

October 8, 2011Buffet breakfat was ok.
Arrived at hotel 13-35 and told we could not check in until 14-00. were told we could leave our bags behind reception! We had to be somewhere for 14-00 eventually at 13-45 were allowed to leave our bags in the room. Our room was ok(nothing special however our friends room (room 11) was uncleaned, beds un made and smelled of cigarette smoke. They left there bags in our room until we returned at approx. 00-30. when we returned our friends were given a different room however it took three visits to reception to eventually get the room door open. After arriving home and checking my bank statement I had been charged twice for my room!! Nearly 3 weeks later and 3 phone calls I still have not recieved a refund. Would not recommend to any one and would never return to this hotel. I regularly use booking.com however this is the worst experience I have ever had.

October 7, 2011Not much. Tired old unloved hotel that must be losing heaps of cash.
Hotel building in dire condition. Not been maintained in 15 odd years. Awful, will never go there again, how Ramada sleep at night I'll never know

October 3, 2011Not complaints but comments - Excellent (quality and quantity) cooked breakfasts each day but repetative with no variety. A long walk from reception to rooms in the 40 to 50 range, especially with bags. Perhaps a fire exit could be opened on request to facilitate the moving of bagage in and out of these rooms.

October 2, 2011Location (near Trentham Gardens) and price
In our forst room the tv, kettle and shower were broken. It took 1.1/2 hours to get moved to a room with facilities that worked. The following morning we could not check out quickly because the only receptionist had failed to turn up for work.

October 2, 2011The choice of tv channels was good and the breakfast was yummy!
On arrival receptionist was chatting to a friend while booking us in- not very professional. Bedroom had massive drink/food stains on the floor which although old didnt look very nice. Resturant was empty- yet waited 5 minutes before finally going to reception to ask if someone could get someone to sit us! Husband had shellfish for dinner and was extremely ill for the next 24 hours- take from that what you like!

September 28, 2011Nothing in particular as we only stayed there one night.
The hotels heating was full on and the hotel was very hot. The day was hot and didn't need the heating on. The breakfast was very expensive how can you justify charging £10.95 each for a breakfast? The key card wouldn't work after trying it 3 times. Told the receptionist and was treated like I was an idiot.

September 26, 2011Very much a business travellor's hotel it is close to j15 of the m6 and not far from Newcastle-under-Lyme. Bedrooms are comfortable with a good sized en-suit but are otherwise nothing to write home about. Breakfast is fairly standard but priced at standard business rates (£8 for Continental, £11 for full english), but otherwise the room was good value (we paid £47 a night). The bar is a nice place to relax of an evening or to have a drink before dinner at one of the two restaurants.
It was clear that they are not used to weekend travellor's being around - getting a coffee during the day was a challenge. There wasn't a fridge in our room which might be an issue for families with young children.

September 25, 2011Complaint, no but feedback yes: the young staff expecially young chap in the dining room was very eager to please, could not do enough however he demonstrated a lack of experience and training about dining and diners. Investement of time and experience needed!

September 20, 2011In spite of two functions in the hotel our room was quiet at night
A disappointing stay. The heating is apparently not turned on till October so our room (two outside walls) was cold and we were cold in bed. The tv did not work (they are in process of turning to digital) and neither did the hairdryer. Altough I asked about stairs (my husband has Parkinsons Disease and find stairs difficult) we were given the furthest room in the hotel which involved lots of stairs both up and down.
