With free Wi-Fi and parking, this Georgian manor house looks out over York Racecourse. It has beautiful original features, a heated indoor pool, and an à la carte restaurant.
The Knavesmire Manor Hotel is less than 2 miles from York Minster and the historic city centre. There are regular buses, which guests can catch from just outside the building.
The house was built in 1833. There are traditional-style rooms in the main building and bright, modern motel-style rooms outside, with direct access to the car park and gardens.
There is a large conservatory in the gardens with an indoor heated pool and spa bath. The bar offers a range of drinks, and the oak-panelled Restaurant 302 serves English and continental food, made with fresh local ingredients.

This is a lovely hotel and we would recommend it to anyone going to visit York.
We loved the conservatory, breakfast, pool, and the room.
Our shower heater had difficulty. Showers had to be quick (3-4 mins), and you had to be ready in case the water turned ice cold or scalding hot. One of the staff members was not overly friendly. Once you broke the ice with her, then it was ok. However, we all joked a bit about how grouchy she seemed.
