The Minster is approximately 3 miles from Goole train station and one mile from North Howden train station. There is a local bus service which runs regularly to the bus stop just 100 metres from the hotel.

Minster View Hotel
The Howden Minster is a beautiful gem, and the hotel has an excellent location. The husband and wife staff are sweet. It's a low-cost hotel, which suited my pocket well. I would probably still stay there again, just because of the price. You get what you pay for. It will be even better if the team can effect my suggestions.
The hotel, indeed my room, overlooks the beautiful Howden Minster. The Minster rings its lovely bells every quarter of an hour. The equipment in the room is good: large digital television on a universal arm; tea- making facilities; the single bed was fine, with cotton linen. The shower was ok. The price of the room, £30, was considerably less than the competition. The manager was friendly, very quick (immediate) registration, and immediately shown to my room. He made breakfast to order, and then drove me to the station (for a fee).
A lingering smell of stale cigarettes in the hall area. The smell was masked by an electronic odoriser in the bedroom. Once I got the windows opened, and turned the electronic odoriser off things improved. The shared bathroom was alright. A bit dim, though clean. My only real suggestion is the smell, which can be resolved by intensive ventilation of the hall and stairwell, possibly carpet cleaning. Lighten the walls, the bathroom. Though for the money this hotel is not bad. By the way, I cut my foot on the shower door when I was getting out of the shower. The bottom edge.
