March 20, 2011This is not a place for business or family travellers. As a single woman, I felt quite uncomfortable.
Free parking
Appalling breakfast, 2 slices of toast, 1 burnt to a crust! Cheap, tasteless 'budget brand' tea, crockery was dirty, so didn't bother for the other two nights. The room smelled stale and sweaty, the pillows and duvet were thin and the only toiletry was small guest soap. The decor is very tired and poorly maintained, there was a hole in the bathroom door, for example. There were no instructions with the tv and only main terrestrial channels, which took a while to find. Remote didn't work properly. I was disturbed by comings and goings at all hours of the day and night, including people arriving and leaving in the early hours. The rooms are outside at the back of the hotel and the lighting on the stairs was poor, it is difficult to get up them with a full suitcase, a laptop bag and handbag. It was difficult to get a vat receipt on checkout, according to the member of staff 'Nobody ever asks for one'. I ended up with what looks like a handwritten bar receipt.
