The Best Western Rose & Crown Hotel is an old English coaching Inn, set in the heart of Tonbridge. Located in the middle of Tonbridge High Street, and opposite the Ancient Castle and Tonbridge Public School.
The Rose and Crown is an impressive Tudor building, once a busy posting and coaching house. Refurbished to modern standards, with many parts of the hotel retaining its original character, with oak beams and Jacobean panelling. The Oak Room Bar & Grill Restaurant offers locally sourced food.
Easy access to the M25 Motorway, Gatwick Airport and the Channel Tunnel. Hever Castle, Chartwell, Churchill's home, and Penshurst Place are only a short drive away.

Very helpful receptionist.
The hotel was undergoing refurbishment which meant no Sunday lunch available, and this was not mentioned at the time of booking, only by a phone call 6 days beforehand. However this was not in the end a problem! Car park difficult to find.

Poor and disappointing
No indication that building work was inprogress. So no hotel bar or restaurant. We were given an uprade to a better room, and that compensated to some extent. But £65 and £20 for breakfast still represented poor value for money given the disruption and disappointment. And the breaksfast was badly cooked. We stayed in a marston and a holiday inn on this trip and they were much better and represented much better value for money.
