I had been looking for a room for the Saturday night because I had a dinner to attend in one of the university colleges that evening. I was therefore prepared to forgive the lack of 'international facilities' for the convenience and relative economy of the Sorreto. To that extent, I cannot complain.
The hotel appears to be a family-run establishment and check-in was pleasant, straightforward and unfussy. The price was acceptable, the car park was capacious and a frequent (albeit pitifully slow) bus service offered car-free access to the city centre. The Sunday breakfast was adequate and cheerfully served, although a wider range of fruits and flakes might have been nice.
The access from the car park was definitely a scruffy introduction to the hotel! The interior was rather dusty and tired-looking, and the views over the Cherry Hinton Road were not the most exciting in town.
