July 25, 2011The people who ran the hotel were very helpful. The breakfast was also very nice. Excellent value for money.
If the hotel wants to encourage business people and coach tours to their hotel, they need to start breakfast much earlier (9am for us). It also urgently needs redecoration. This is a hotel with a lot of potential, it just needs some tlc.

September 14, 2011I liked the friendly attitude of the family run hotel. Although it is not ultra modern and may need a few improvements. I felt the approach the manager made was very refreshing. He made sure my stay there was as comfortable as possible. I would have no hesitation in going again.

September 13, 2011This hotel is in need of a comlete revamp. At the very least it needs a safety review. The service at breakfast was dreadful with hot breakfasts being delivered before cereals, hot drink orders forgotten altogether and staff whos, not through any fauilt of there own, whoo clearly had no idea about service. This is not a complaint but a reflection of my overall exlerience.

August 24, 2011Very courteous owners and staff. Great location with beautiful views
This hotel is an old building and some cosmetic renovations (paint and some carpets) would improve the overall appearance. Perhaps these have been deferred due to current economic conditions.

January 12, 2012The proprietor was very kind, she altered the breakfast time for us and changed the requested single room for my mother to a double next door to us. Although the hotel is not luxurious it is neat and tidy and very clean. The breakfast was excellent as was the service.

December 24, 2011The breakfast was freshly cooked.
The hotel is tired, scruffy and dirty. My room had not seen a proper cleaning for some time. The carpet in my room was threadbare, the towels were thin and cheap and the wallpaper was torn in places with white gloss paint dribbles down the wall. Not at all impressive. I have stayed here before within the past 12 months and the place has plumetted. I realise that the hotel takes social services clients but even they think the place is a dump!

October 9, 2011Good for our purpose. We were going to catch a ferry the next morning from Haysham Ferry Terminal, just up the road, otherwise nothing outstanding. Would I stay there again ? Probably not.
The interior all looked a little bit drab, run down and uninviting, however everything was nice and clean so no problem there.

September 6, 2011Location was very good, and the front bedroom over-looking the sea was a very pleasant prospect. Staff were friendly if a little low-key and not very obvious.
I would recommend the hotel to others but would say that it lacks smartness and attention to detail like lighting, bathroom provision and bed-side power-points. Some B+B places offer a more generous self-service breakfast for the same price.

August 14, 2011Very warm welcome from proprietor. Excellent breakfast in lovely dining-room
Rooms badly need updating. First view of hotel was depressing - neglected front garden where other hotel gardens were bright and well- tended, worn carpets, unwelcoming reception area. Proprietor seemed to be doing all the work while his ?wife did nothing.

July 29, 2011I cannot praise the staff at St Winifred's too highly. Nothing is too much trouble and every reasonable need is met. There is a friendly, family atmosphere and, as a regular guest, I regard it as 'home from home'. This is a great location if one wishes to visit the magnifent scenery of The Lakes or the Yorkshire moors. The view to The Lakes across the bay is a constant source of wonder. I would unhesitatingly recommend this hotel to anyone planning to visit Morecambe.

We Didn't like the place at all.
This was a bed & breakfast with a sea view. The breakfast was mediocre for although the fried breakfast was ok, there was nothing else like the usual cereals or fruit juice etc. The shower didn't work, there wasn't a shelf or coat hook in the tiny bathroom, no shampoo or bath salts just a tiny round piece of soap, Even the toilet tissue was of the budget supermarket brand. We paid £70.00. for a room, and the couple with us paid £70.00. for the other half of the room because the room had been partitioned off so we each had half a bay window. I wouldn't stay here again if it was a free offer on a cornflakes packet. If we wanted to stay in a bed & breakfast establishment we could have found somewhere for around half the price we paid, and had it been as bad as this place we would have still have been disappointed. I'd like to say the place is a joke, but it just wasn't funny..
