August 25, 2011We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere where service was efficient without being overbearing in the restaurant and cheerful and helpful in the bar. The room was clean and spacious with everything as expected. The en suite had outside windows and was airy and fresh.
Noisy handle and no lock on the en suite. Not informed that there would be no food available on our arrival on the Sunday evening and no alternative location offered.

January 3, 2012Very friendly staff, cosy family style pub. Just overall a pleasure.
Just the lack of hot water - I found it s bit frustrating not to be able to have a hot bath.

November 7, 2011Location - easy reach of Stratford-upon-Avon, Royal Shakespere Theatre and Oxford. Food/Dining a fantastic experience, Nicky provided us with a brillant first class evening meal and fantastic breakfasts. Room was beautifully decorated and very clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. We would recommend The Mary Arden Inn and plan to stay again and bring our two young children.

November 6, 2011Very good situation opposite Mary Arden house, only a few minutes drive from Stratford on Avon town centre so, a cheaper but convenient stop for visiting Shakespeare sites. As this is a pub with rooms there are not all the facilities of a hotel but it is comfortable enough providing the price is right. Rooms are small and furnishings dating a little, but very clean. The staff are a delight and nothing was too much trouble. Food in the bar was reasonably priced and typical of most pub food. If you are looking for a room near Stratford at a budget price and not expecting luxury for that price then, this is for you.

October 5, 2011The location is excellent the breakfast chef is superb even though he is on his own & has to take the orders & cook & then deliver the food himself he also doubles on reception & books guests out The hotel is always understaffed with new "managers" on every visit
Not enough staff ! No food at all available after 4pm on a Sunday. The service for a bar meal is very slow again due to no staff the 1 bar man has to do everything himself It was the busiest weekend of the year in Wilmcote "Apple Day" no extra staff, 1 bar man, the main managers/leaseholders not there, people coming in asking for food being turned away. Restaurant closed Saturday night bar meals only no waitress staff available. Rubbish bins with no lids at the bottom of the stairs by reception ash trays full on all the tables outside needs a good clean up but no staff again!

October 4, 2011I thought that the Mary Arden was excellent value for money - the room was superb and had everything that we could possibly want. The staff were just brilliant and extremely welcoming. I would thoroughly recommend the Mary Arden and look forward to our next visit.

October 3, 2011Quiet, compact, countryside location close enough to have a weel-cooked meal before going to the theatre in Stratford (perhaps more light meals on the menu would be a good idea). Good breakfasts, friendly and helpful staff. Large, comfortable en suite room at reasonable price.
The hotel had only been taken over for about 7 weeks and was still understaffed. There are little things needing attention (E.G. broken toilet roll holder), but it was clear that staff were busy getting the place in good order.

September 12, 2011The location near Mary Arden house the tour bus stopped nearby
The hotel needs a bit of TLC We were told that a handy man was working on the hotel The bathroom was a bit battered and the carpet in the dining room was dirty It didnt help that we were without lights for the evening and night we were told that it was being looked into We would recomend it to others only if it was cleaned up

September 11, 2011The Mary Arden is ideally placed for exploring Shakespeare country, just a short walk from the Mary Arden Farm and in easy reach of Stratford.
Despite its superb location and historical connections, the inn lacked atmosphere. While the hotel service and amenities were good, it seemed separate from the pub side of the business which did not complement the hotel well.

September 6, 2011The location was great as it was just a five minute walk to the railway station and a five minute journey got you into stratford with a five minute walk again at the other end to get you into the town itself. Ideal base for the races as its just a 25 minute stroll to the course from stratford station. Staff very friendly and Jess a great receptionist :-) Would use again.
Room in need of update, bathroom at sometime has had a damp problem so stains down walls and very rotten wood. Window in need of replacing.
