The George Hotel is a 16th-century coaching inn situated in the centre of the historic market town of Wallingford. With seasonal bistro dining, it is also 20 minutes’ drive from Oxford.
Private en suite bathrooms are provided in all rooms at The George, along with TVs with Sky and free Wi-Fi. Hairdryers, tea/coffee-making facilities and laundry/dry cleaning services are also available to guests.
Guests can enjoy a seasonal, à la carte menu with traditional English dishes at Wealh’s Restaurant. The Bistro offers lighter dining within more relaxed surroundings. The Tavern Bar provides guests with drinks and real ales alongside traditional pub meals which can be enjoyed in the hotel’s courtyard.
Free parking is provided at The George Hotel, and regular bus access to Oxford and Reading is available from the nearby market square. The hotel is located nearby the river Thames, and the ruins of the 11th-century Wallingford Castle are visible from the hotel’s rear.
