December 3, 2011Welcoming and friendly hosts.Surprisingly quiet despite being situated close to M40. Tasteful decor and furnishing. Warm and comfortable. Adjusted breakfast content to suit our personal preferences. Voluntarily booked our dinner reservation.
Without satnav would be difficult to find from J15 of M40.

July 17, 2011Friendly people, lovely small hotel, four poster beds, definately use it again if visiting Warwick or needing a quiet time away.
No complaints, just requires a car or taxi ride into Warwick Town.

July 14, 2011The proprietors really make the difference, they are so warm and welcoming and really make your feel at home. Very pleasant hotel in pleasant grounds, perfect place for any couple or individual wanting to avoid the mundane mainstream chain hotels. Easy access to Warwick, which has some lovely shops and lovely restaurants. Would recommend this hotel and would love to stay again, thank you!

June 6, 2011A beautiful room with a wonderful bed. Nothing was too much trouble for the lovely couple that own it and every detail was looked after. The hotel is gorgeous house, a short taxi ride from Warwick and a short drive into Straford on Avon too. An ideal position for exploring the area. I'd stay there again tomorrow if I could.

June 4, 2011The staff were really welcoming and friendly. They were excellent at suggesting places to go eat and things to do. The whole place was full of character a great atmosphere. The breakfast was delicious! We didn't get to experience the cooked breakfast but the continental was wonderful (more than just toast and tea!)

April 17, 2011The Old Rectory is more b&b than hotel, as they only provide breakfast. However, Chris and Christine - the owners - are wonderful people who make you feel completely at home. There's a lounge for guests to sit, honesty bar and a lovely, airy breakfast room. Breakfast was good; you won't go hungry! Our room (Sherbourne) was quite small but really comfortable and clean, which meant we could relax and enjoy our stay. The bathroom is small but that includes a good shower which is simple to use. All in all, we had a wonderful stay and intend to visit again!

November 15, 2011Friendly and helpful owners. Homely atmosphere. Very good cooked breakfast at the weekend.
The room didn't quite live up to the description online and we couldn't describe the shower as "luxury" - quite adequate but not luxury! It was quite difficult to find in the dark.

November 15, 2011Just off the m/way and great for Warwick or Stratford. Warm welcome from the hostess. Cosy, quaint, clean and comfortable... Would stay there again. One downside (I did not notice from the details) was no evening meal available however.. A great local Gastro-pub c/w beams, good decor and a warm atmosphere, was only a few miles away - so no problem, as we had a lovely meal. . On the upside ... breakfast was great (full English) and very welcome. We popped into Stratford which is only a few miles away and I left my car in their car park for a couple of hours. I had left a pair of boots in the room and the owner, kindly left a note on my windscreen to tell me and brought them out on my return. Would definitely stay there again if in the area.

November 10, 2011The main building was very pretty, parking facilities were excellent and the owners were very friendly.
Wifi was none existent in our room, despite being advertised as having Wifi. Didn't like the fact that we couldn't eat or drink our own food/drinks in the room despite there being no immediate facility for us to buy food/drink. Room was very cold and very cramped.

November 8, 2011Beautiful place, full of character throughout. The honesty bar was a nice touch and appreciated whilst waiting for a taxi! Lovely breakfast and the owners are very friendly and welcoming. Only minor point was that you do need to taxi it or drive in to town, it's not walkable but that's compensated by the fact that it's a more rural, peaceful location.

November 7, 2011The owners were very friendly and the breakfast was excellent. It was lovely clean and we were left to enjoy a peaceful night.
I wouldn't have called it a hotel as the owners lived in the house and there was not restaurant offering evening meals or lunches. It was more of a b&b and so it seemed a little expensive.

The hotel is well placed for access to Warwick (10 mins) and Stratford on Avon (15-20 mins) and both have a wealth of historic buildings and exhibits plus entertainments like the RSC theatre and a good number of pubs and restuarants.
This is an old rectory (the clue is in the name) - so missing the bath from my ensuite shower room is a given. If you must have an ensuite bathroom there's a travelodge motel down the road - stay there instead. If you want to stay in a 300 year old property but in relative (21st century ) comfort - stay at the Old Rectory. It has much of the original features of the building intact and a very homely feel to it.
