May 24, 2011Traditionally decorated and furnished hotel with all the amenities you would expect in the room and public areas. The room wasn't overly spacious but a reasonable size for a double. Very friendly, relaxed and helpful staff.
Our room was chilly and there was no way to control the temperature as the hotels central heating system was turned off.

The location of the hotel and the staff were lovely - but the rooms (unless you get an internet deal) are hideously over-priced. In anticipation of the next question, I would stay at the hotel again but only if I got a reasonable internet deal.
Staff were very helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble
The standard of a standard double and the cost - £125.00. We booked via the internet and paid £69.99; when I saw the room, I would have been horrified if I had paid the advertised price of £125.00. Our en-suite bathroom had melanine walls, yellow lino tiles with black lines to make them look like cork, the towel rail was hanging off the wall and the shower rail was really rusty. A travel lodge for £49.99 would be more modern and better presented.
