August 9, 2011The rooms are in a seperate building to the main part of the pub, and feature a bathroom upstairs, so you feel as though you have your own little house. The pub itself is stunning as is the village in which it is situated, add to this a great cooked breakfast and friendly staff and you have yourself a winner!

July 27, 2011The location is great, so close to the second most important historic spot in England. The rooms were actually spacious but cosy apartments. The food at the hotel was above expectations and the staff were friendly and helpful. The best holiday experience I can remember!

September 13, 2011The food was very good and the staff were very friendly. It is a beautiful pub in fantastic countryside
They do not really cater for people with food intolerances. I am lactose intolerant and they really struggled to offer me a meal.

September 10, 2011The bedroom accommodation was nice, though the cleaning was not so good. A few cobwebs around. Food very good and helpful staff in restaurant.
A few cobwebs around. However, the bathroom was definitely in need of an upgrade. Bath surround dirty and tile grout needed attention.

September 5, 2011Good location in vale of White Horse. Enjoyed our evening meal.
Stayed in room 6 - very dark room at end of annexe block with no window in bedroom. Bathroom damp with flaking paintwork. Smallest shower unit i have ever encountered. We didn't find any outside lighting so fumbled in the dark trying to get into room late at night.

August 8, 2011Nice and friendly staff, cosy old pub, good food!
Dirty rooms, which they should not rent out. Filthy, run-down, incredible for the price. The old pub is worth a visit, the "hotel" is not!

July 21, 2011Loved all of it, charm, location, room, staff.Would recommend to all. Wonderful conclusion to a day at Stonehenge and Aveburry.
Nothing about the hotel. Was just very difficult to find because of our google directions, that was all.

August 15, 2011Prachtige locatie in een typisch geisoleerd dorp vlakbij the White Horse of Uffington.

The location in the Vale of the White Horse is superb for walkers and history / landscape lovers. The inn is a wonderful ancient building, although not perhaps made as much of as it might be. The overall style is comfortable, stylish, clean, and a good mix of diners and drinkers. The food was amongst the best we've encountered in an inn of this type, with wonderful ingredients and presentation. The bedrooms in the adjacent stable block are a bit dated but are very pleasant and comfortable. We would warmly recommend a stay here, with good access to local market towns, Oxford and Swindon and superb historic sites in an atmospheric location. A treat.
