October 6, 2011Bed/matress needs renewing, like trying to sleep on a set of springs! Room like an oven due to heating full on although it was one of the hottest days of September/October. Had to complain to reception who were not aware of this!

September 12, 2011The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and adequate in terms of space and facilities. The food was of good quality - we especially enjoyed the bar meals.
Our only concern was that we felt the bed was not only a little small for a double but that it was quite old - a pity, when everything else was quite enjoyable.

September 1, 2011Both myself and friends thought hotel ok, with reservations ( no pun intended!) We enjoyrd the food, the evening dinner was excellent. The breakfast was certainly ok as well, and all the staff we met were v. friendly and smiley. The parking was ok for our motorcycles right outside the front door, so we felt at ease , as they have cctv at the front, and a night portery type person whose office was right there as well. the rooms were clean and fresh, but (personally) i did'nt think the bed comfy, and there was a fair bit of banging /noises in the night.
The TV in my room was malfunctioning , but I was not overly bothered by that, but some folk would not like that , which is why I mention it. One of my friends tv did,nt work at all, despite speaking to reception ( in person. The Plastic glasses in the bathroom should really be replaced by something better as mine were both cracked, as was my friends in his room. we did get two pint glasses from the bar when mentioned this ! The hotel is in a good location , and we did enjoy our stay. We would mention this hotel to others in a positve light , but would suggest they attend to the minor gripes above. One of my friends said the shower in rm 14 was not working either !

August 31, 2011Plasma screens do not make a poorly run Hotel a good one! My suspicions were raised when the Hotel was half empty on a Bank Holiday weekend with two major sporting events in the local area. We would never stay again. In particular, the food was truly awful and the bed was the most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept in!

July 13, 2011The staff were absolutely great, couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful. Everything was clean and in good condition. The location was wonderful. The building is attractive and the gardens are pretty. There is lots to do in the area. The food was nice.
The shower in the room was hopeless. Everything else was great.

June 13, 2011As indicated in the reviews on the website, the room was comfortable and clean. The hotel was probably quite grand in its day but is now a little tired and the shower in the bathroom was pretty feeble. However, as somewhere to stay the night close to Cadwell Park motor racing cicuit, it was well located and offered good value for money. I would use this hotel again if going to Cadwell.

May 23, 2011Large room, large bed
Breakfast not starting until 8 meant I had to have continental in my room as I was leaving early for Golf at 8.There was no flexibility, which was extremely disappointing as a cooked breakfast before Golf was the reason I booked the Hotel- and I dont like cheese or butter.. Playing after toast and a Banana is not my idea of comfort but I was assured the Chef would not be in until 8, when I asked if I could eat at 7.45 - Would the Chef really arrive to cook at 8 when Breakfast service starts at 8.00 ?? For this reason I will stay at the Golf Hotel, 100 yards nearer the course, next year.

January 27, 2011The hotel was far too hot and the only way I could regulate the temperature in my room was by opening the windows (in January!).I could not have a printed receipt as they could not get the printer to work (although they did handwrite one for me when I said I needed one before I left). I had the feature room at a reduced rate but I think its overpriced for the full price.

August 16, 2011Nice location, evocative buildings. Good size ensuite.
The room was a bit small. The ensuite was overlooked and could do with frosted glass. The TV was difficult to operate. Kitchen smells came up to the room. Other guests were very noisy.

January 22, 2012Good price and it included breakfast. The food was very good
Poor wi-fi reception in room 17 meant I had to sit an on-line teat on my laptop in the bar! The heating was far too hot, turn it down a couple of degrees and you will save money.

January 2, 2012When we arrived the room was very warm so we opened the windows but being straight onto the street made it noisey. When we came back from dinner it was extremely hot and it was not possible to turn down the radiator. The manager came along with a bunch of keys and we were moved down the corridor to another room. It was New Years Eve but we went to bed at 12.05 but prior to that there had been running about in the room upstairs. After midnight there was arguing from this couple and swearing. At 12.45 I rang down to reception to see if they could do anything about the noise but there was no answer from the desk. I have no problem with the reduction in price which the hotel made but if the night porter was in the bar who was making sure that the guests were safe in the case of fire etc.

In all honesty not very much. Insufficient towels in the room, water took at least 10 minutes to warm up. Breakfast mean and not very well cooked.I would not recommend for the price.
