November 5, 2011The staff at the kids club were lovely girls and great with the kids. The kids play room was good and the cinema was great.
I found the reception staff unwelcoming and got a bad first impression. Didn't like the open plan foyer as found the seating uncomfortable, far too open to the public, noisy and not a cosy place to sitting and relaxing. I was charged 170 euro for one night b &b for myself and just a five year old child in the room. Not good value for money. Restaurant was like a canteen and not up to 4 star standard. Charged 8 euro fifty cent for a child's portion for lunch - too expensive for what was on offer. Only one window in our bedroom and although it had a sea view it was at the height of my head so room felt claustrophobic. I can cancelled the second night reservation and stayed at the beautiful Meyrick Hotel in Galway city for a much better price of 115 euro b&B.

October 6, 2011Great Location.
We expected much more, the hotel is run down, poorly maintained when rooms are concerned, it's definitely not a 4 star hotel. We booked a family room, got small box room where the buggie could hardly get in. Complained and got what we paid for, unnecessary hassle when traveling with small kids. Bathroom dated, the shower mixer fixed high on the wall, not child friendly plus could not adjust the temperature. No fridge in the room, had to ask for one and was told that we had to book it in advance (what's unusual for a 4 star hotel). Carvery lunch not good, spoiled by horrible tasting gravy (tasted as it had a bottle of vinigar poured in). However restourant and bar area were nice and food was very nice (slow service though). The location is very nice, hotel has great potential though, it would make such a difference if the rooms were freshly painted, it would get rid of that mold smell.

March 29, 2011The location is excellent.
Can be a bit noisey if you're unlucky and they give you a room right above loud late-night music as they did with us - despite the fact that we had a one-year old baby. I do think the hotel is slightly over expensive!

January 3, 2012Easy to book online and check in and out.
1) I asked for non smoking room, the room smelled on smoke, very objectionable. 2) no wifi in the room, I use iPhone and iPad and cannot use the physical Ethernet cable you provided. 3) difficult or impossible to adjust shower water temperature, scalding hot. 4) parking is too tight. Room rate was excessive, you will not be my first choice next time I visit Galway. Thanks Liam

January 6, 2012Staff & hotel are top class
Went for dinner in hotel restaurant and the service was a bit poor all though the restaurant was extremely busy at that time 8 pm to 10 pm. Also the presentation of some portions of the food could be improved

January 4, 2012Great location and lovely scenery despite the weather. Food in the restaurant was of a very good standard.
Level of service overall was not good, both in the restaurant and in room service. Did not match 4 star expectations.

January 3, 2012Staff were very helpful. Great place to stay. Restaurant was extremely nice but a bit on the dear side, and the people who were also staying there were nice.
Had to get the remote for the television changed, this wasn't a big deal as they replaced it straight away with no hassle.

December 12, 2011It was comfortable but overpriced particularly in the current climate. Breakfast was excellent although I would have enjoyed some meats and cheeses with the continental selection.
It was overpriced. The bar food was very slow.

November 30, 2011I was there for a wedding and the staff were really great, from John who was our contact for the day, to the waiters during the dinner, great. The room was comfortable too, what little I saw of it.
I didn't like the cliched bar, no class to it. Cant think of anything else really.

Staff very friendly and respectful. Food excellent. Service/room service excellent. Decor superb. Comfort of bed excellent.
The noise! Asked to be placed in the quietest part of the hotel and my request was adhered to insofar as the staff put me in a room that was not above the restaurant or the bar. However, I experienced firstly noise from an adjoining room that actually woke me up at 12.10am and lasted for approximately 50 minutes. Shouting between a couple and screaming from a young child. This I found very disconcerting indeed. When I reported it to reception at 12.15 they agreed to follow it up. However their intervention (if any) did not change the situation at all. After the couple 'next door' eventually went to bed I was awoken again by a gang of about 13 youths drinking, shouting, letting off fireworks in the adjoining park which was only a few meters from my room. The hotel staff were unawares of the behaviour of the youths when I brought it to their attention in spite of the fact that they supposedly have two porters who are in charge of patrolling the grounds. The gardai were called but did not respond and the gang finally dispersed at approx. 3.15Am. So irrespective of the lovely v1 sprung bed in the room it proved useless to me as I could not get to sleep in it. There are no notices in the hotel asking residents to be quiet during the hours of 11pm and 7am which I have seen in other hotels (Europe) nor did it appear that they were concerned at all with the unruly behaviour of the youths in the park and the effects it was having on their residents sleep.
