November 1, 2011I was looking at the last minute for a place to stay for the Jazz festival and was having difficulties. Many places were booked up and many of the "average" type hotels had elevated prices. Having first dismissed Hayfield Manor as being out of my league, I found myself returning to it as the price seemed comparable to many of the other less luxurious hotels. I decided to splash out and go for it and I have to say it was worth it. Has to be one of the nicest places I've ever stayed in. The building is fantastic, beautifully decorated inside and out. The staff are superbly professional and generally very friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and luxurious with many little touches that I thought were excellent. (One very simple addition for example was a map of jogging routes for the area which I availed of as I think a quick jog around a new area is a great way to get a feel for a place). This place is luxury, with a very comfortable big bed, a jacuzzi bath and all the facilities you could wish for. I also like the old style uniforms that all the staff wear adding an old world charm and sophisticated, proffesional elegance to the place. Often you can pay a lot of money and not feel like you get much for it. Here, I think you certainly do feel like you are getting an experience worth the expense. Also, a country house feel only 15 mins from the city. Highly recommended!
One or two minor items that weren't perfect. There was a bit of a humming sound we could hear in our room at times. Thankfully it seemed to stop at night in time for sleep. Not sure if it was from air conditioning plant nearby and I didn't hugely mind but it could be an annoyance for some. It is possibly just a little too formal sometimes with the feeling that some of the younger staff are almost nervous serving you in case they mess up somehow. Could relax a tad. Stereo in the room did not seem to have a plug on it as far as I could see.

August 9, 2011The hotel and staff are amazing! The feeling you get as soon as you arrive at the hotel is one of being enveloped in comfort and that stays with you throughout your stay.Staff are beyond helpful, nothing is too much trouble and all requests are treated with a genuine smile. We ate in Perrotts Bistro and the food was amazing and really well priced, we expected much higher prices considering the hotel is 5 star. Overall we cant wait to get back to Hayfield Manor!

June 26, 2011This hotel is in a perfect location, quiet remote surroundings yet a short enjoyable walk into the heart of the city itself. Very old world hotel with fantastic staff.
The swimming pool area very out dated and in need of a face lift. Spa treatments way over priced and i was very dissapointed there was nothing 'cheap and cheerful' i could select to mark my stay. My general feeling on this hotel as we left was that it was quite over rated and more suited to an older couple.

April 25, 2011The staff were so friendly. The food at perrotts garden restaurant was one of the best meals i have ever had out. And there was an excellent waitress whose name I have forgotten but she knew what she was talking about. So nice to see these days. Also a very nice waitress called Sunny who was a breath of fresh air. You should be involved in training staff in every hotel in ireland!
I suppose price wise we did find things like lunch etc on the high side but I know you are trying to get a certain clientele to your hotel. Not a big fault however as I don't mind paying a little extra when things are top notch.

The toiletries.
Room not ready on arrival. Was told I had upgrade when another staff member advised my receptionist that she had given my roon out because her guests room was also not ready.Got original room after a small wait.Only one robe left in bathroom when both of us were going to spa.Not informed on arrival were spa was had to ask for directions off staff member who came to room with us.Wasnt informed were the restaurant was either.Very poor information given to us. Extortionist charges for breakfast .Overall didnt find the value for money.Could have booked a city hotel for a third of the price of the room and been more satisfied.Would not return and pay same price again.Big price for small customer service. When leaving hotel receptionist couldnt find 'key' to give me change had to wait a while for key to be found. I can understand the image you want to portray but I feel you don't get it across to the customer.
