November 15, 2011Not a bad palce to stay, I think we were just unlucky with the room we were given because I did enjoy my stay on a previous occasion.
We stayed in Isaacs before and we were very happy with everything, this time we were quite dissapointed. The room we were given this time was quite shabby and small, the bathroom was the same and I even found someones hair in the bath..not nice!! The room was street facing and neither of us could sleep much our first night because of the noise from outside.

November 15, 2011Very good location for access to train and bus services and to city shopping.
Being woken at 6a.M. by some sort of loud delivery workers outside our window.

August 9, 2011Hotel is over priced, and a bit of a tourist trap. If you are looking for a fairly nice, central hotel, and are willing to splash out then it's nice, but not good value for your money.

January 23, 2012Great room, not incredibly modern but very spacious and very clean. Staff were nice too.
It a shame they don't have a residents bar in the hotel and also a shame that I wasn't informed prior to booking.

January 11, 2012We stayed in the apartments. Perfect for a group in the city for a night or two.
Check out of the apts is different to the hotel, much earlier, 10.30. We were not told about this and it wasn't clear on the website. Only found out when I rang reception that morning to confirm.

December 15, 2011The location was wonderful, the staff were very accommodating in trying to fit us in for dinner that night.
The room didn't really match the pictures of the hotel, it was dated and a little run down. The bathroom was worse, there were cracks in the walls, and a little bit of mould around the bath/shower. The door to the bathroom was strange - there was about a 10cm gap at the bottom of the door, which made it look like a public toilet door.

December 12, 2011Central location
We had a smoking room so I don't know if this attributed to the lack of cleanliness and it was very out-dated. Also the restaurant is very expensive and they do not do food in the bar.

December 10, 2011The staff are really lovely and were happy to help with anything without being in your face, the rooms are clean and comfortable, a bit dated, but ideal for a nice weekend away, the location can't be beat , right in the city centre and the value is pretty good is you book in advance, i'd definetly stay again

December 7, 2011Excellent location,friendly staff.
Lack of a swimming pool/gym , also soundproofing needs to be upgraded , there was a lot of people talking late at night in the courtyard smoking area which could be heard clearly from our bedroom

December 6, 2011Easy access to shops & restaurants. Comfort of staying in an apartment but with the added bonus of use of Hotel facilities and contact with Hotel Staff.
We'd opt for a 1st floor apartment next time as one of the party has a longterm illness - amount of stairs were a problem. Cosmetically some of the tiles in the bathroom were not grouted back properly after they had been taken down - but this only bothered us visually.

December 5, 2011I arrived quite late (10pm) and can't really fault the place. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was standard fayre, comfy bed, clean sheets. It's obviously an old building, as the rooms were beginning to feel a bit dated. But it was cheap and clean and I've got no complaints! Guinness was lovely!

We found our stay very peaceful and the staff more than helpful when I lost my phone. We also got back very late one night (05.00) and the night porter was at the gate within seconds of us showing up. Which was reassuring. The waterfall is the reason we remembered Isaacs from previous visits to Cork and we always wondered what it would be like to stay. Needless to say we were impressed & will be back. The food in the restaurant was first class. We had the early bird option and did not expect it to be to the high standards that it was. Also the staff on the night were great considering it was nye and we booked at very short notice.
The outside windows were a little dirty. But I had to think hard to come up with that. This is not a complaint just a desperate observation.
