July 9, 2011The location is very good: mrt Bras Basah is just around the corner, 7/11 is downstairs, also Kopitiam, a 24h food court, is next room, as well as Wendy's and an Irish pub. There is only 10-15 min walking distance to Orchard road. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially the concierges. We were allowed to use the shower due to a midnight flight even though we had already checked out. Also a luggage storage was available. The receptionist took our post cards and promised to take them to a mail box, which were hadn't found. The twin room was okay and clean, not too luxurious, though, but decent for a short stay. There were many tv channels to choose from.
The hotel has seen its better days, I think. The room had an 80s appearance, with carpet and brown colors. The described "city view" was to the Bencoolen street, I.E. you could see the other hotels across the street. Even if we were on the 13th floor you couldn't see any nice views over the city since other buildings blocked them. Sound proofing was rather bad: outside and next door noises were easily heard. A connecting door to the next room gave a feeling that someone is about to come into our room in any second. The breakfast menu and our taste didn't meet, the menu was mainly aimed at British people, who were actually crowding the hotel. There wasn't any info about the pool or any other facilities in the room.

October 3, 2011The location is very convenient - just about 100m from nearest mrt station (Bras Basah) which gives you the ability to get quickly to any part of the city. If you are ok with walking, the majority of Singapore's attractions can also easily be reached on foot - the spot is equally distanced from Marina area, Idian and Arab quarters and of course Orchard road (actually Bras Basah road just becomes Orchard if you walk to the North). Clarke Quay and Chinatown are a bit farther but also no problem walking there. We also liked the swimming pool on the rooftop.
Totally overpriced just as all of Singapore's hotels. Stuff was correct but not very friendly - we arrived for check-in in equal "Just Married" t-Shirts (as we were on our honeymoon trip), but no one has payed any attention on it and tried to congratulate us or propose any compliment from the hotel (just a smile and a simple glass of juice would be ok :) )

June 13, 2011We were able to locate several shopping centres close to the hotel. There was a rail way station only a block or so away as well although we didn't use it. There were a number of food outlets close handy too. The breakfast buffet was extensive and available over a long period (7 til 10.30)
There was no information in the room re the hotel facilities or nearby ones. There were enough tea and coffee bags for 2 drinks of each but after that you had to pay for more bags. The only information in the room apart from the need to buy more tea or coffee stuff was a warning that you would be charged if you took the towels and that you should leave all towels in the bath so that they could be checked which would speed up your departure check out (????) The pool was locked at 8 pm which was pretty early in my opinion given that it was on the roof and there were no occupants close by to be disturbed by noise from there

November 5, 2011Great place to stay. It's located in the heart of the city with the mrt interchange close by, and is also on the main bus routes. We were a little worried on what would be served as the free breakfast, but it was fantastic for us westerners! Cheap meals can be found next door, and a Subway/Wendys located over the road. Carrefour supermarket is also only a short walk away. Swimming pool was great too. Staff were friendly.
Had booked a double room, but ended up with a twin. Not a deal breaker though.

October 4, 2011While staying at Bayview Hotel Singapore we really enjoyed the location of the hotel. It was very close to the Bras Basah mrt Station (1-2 minute walk) which took us all around the city. We also really liked the pool and the restaurants near the hotel.
When we arrived we were checked in very smoothly and the hotel staff were lovely however when we got into our room we were given a twin room instead of a double room (which I had requested). The bathroom was not cleaned to a very high standard, there was still dirt and hair everywhere before we touched anything. For the amount of money we were paying for the 5 nights I expected a little more.

September 28, 2011Great location superb place to eat right next door with good beer once you know how to find it. Mrt 2minutes from front door easy to use great value breakfast was good on the 4 occasions we used it lots of choice and frequently renewed. Staff are friendly and nothing is to much trouble when we asked difficult questions they simply found some one who could from bus time tables to the best place to go for a run. Will certainly stay there again.
They describe a gym which consists of 3 worn out bits of kit in the smallest room ever (but there is a great park to run around just up the hill past the ymca) the bed room was a little on the small side for a prolonged stay. But you get what you pay for and on a f1 weekend it was pretty good.

February 8, 2012There's a mosque (Bencoolen mosque) and halal food restaurant (Restaurant Hjh Maimunah) just in front of the hotel. Thus, it's very inconvenient for muslims travellers like us. Besides, our room is spacious & we got double bed room as requested. Other than that, Bras Basah mrt station is just within walking distance from the hotel.

February 4, 2012Location easy acces to mrt,
Gym equipment is broken and has not being fixed or replaced since last visit. MRT construction outside the building making it very noisy, if you have a room adjacent to the consruction. Diffcult for taxis to get to the front of the hotel and some drivers are unsure of the rerouting.

January 31, 2012Good location and cleanliness. Free internet in the room is an additional support for the guest.
Spring mattress is not good for health. This is old and conventional method to prepare the bed. Better to use coir mattress, which can give romantic support to the couples. The wall fixed mirror is very small. A bigger one is recommended.
