"As we were visiting relatives we were not in the hotel much, but it served our purpose well and it was overall a reasonably pleasant experience." (108230532)

A pleasant setting with generally good facilities. The public rooms were spacious.

The room was rather cramped, and the kettle ceased to work after the first night. In the bathroom the shower head was loose and difficult to adjust, and the bath was very small. Also the lavatory seat was loose.

"Staff could have been friendly, they were very distant, not even an "enjoy your stay"." (108293177)

Location for event with close bus link to event site.

Light in bedroom not working and a lot of air in water tap. Staff not friendly.

"Overall my stay was very satisfactory and enjoyable. The staff were very helpful and friendly at all times. The only thing that let the room down was the bathroom which was a little tired and unclean. The room itself was an excellent size for a single room. " (108527621)

Very easy to find and extremely helpful staff. A very good size for a single room.

The bathroom was a little tired and unclean.

Staff were very friendly, competant and accomodating.Room was a very good size, and the bed was very comfortable excellent view of heath.

room ,though as clean as could be made, was quite tatty especially the bathroom(poor grouting, sealing on bath, very intermitent water pressure, very grubby paintwork etc)

  • 3/10 Gavin ( Mature couple)

from Fleggburgh, norfolk , GB  on  February 16, 2010

"Stayed with 2 other couples as well. My parents-in-law had asked for a disabled room. Upon arrival at hotel they said they had no evidence of that and they were put in a room where they had to use stairs. Their sink continually blocked. " (108442719)

Room hadn't been dusted in weeks. Bathroom dirty and bath had 2 hairs in and was dirty. Toilet continually overflowed and made a loud noise all the time. Window single glazed and we heard everything in carpark. Huge queue at breakfast and no eggs, no sausages, no toast, no mushrooms, had coffee brought to table but no milk, no butter etc etc. A very poor service and bad experience. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

"Nice restaurant and nice & charming elderly waiter Ivo " (108625183)

I have ordered a cot for my child, however it was not provided when we checked in. It was available in late evening hours so our son could not go to sleep on time

    "Average" (108573091)

Comfortable bed. Hotel was easy to find and good location for where I needed to be. Good selection at breakfast

Room had not been throughly cleaned on arrival. I had to wait a whole day for there to be an iron and an ironing board to become available. Reception staff were abrupt, and didnt seem to be of much help. With exception of the reception manager who I met when I was checking out.

Good fresh breakfast with efficient service Quiet room Excellent shower

Rather indifferent welcome at reception Very noisy radiator in room Very poor tea-making facilities - three teabags for two people. And no teapot. Parking difficult if you arrive after about 7pm

"comfortable surrounding and staff were great." (108369265)

Room was clean and staff very helpful on arrival.

Corridors were very warm and rooms alot cooler. Parking could be a problem at this hotel! If it wasnt for a brilliant member of staff i dont think i would of got parked.

"It was a good experience for a one night stay but I couldn't have imagined staying for a week. I would recommend it and would stay again." (108436030)

The hotel was in a good location - 15 minute bus ride from the O2, opposite the bus stop and round the corner from the station. The room wasn't air conditioned which made it comfortable to sleep in. The reception staff were friendly and efficient. The cooked breakfast was well cooked, well presented and plentiful. The service wasn't particularly friendly but it was efficient.

The breakfast staff weren't very cheerful but were efficient. The hotel could have done with a fresh layer of paint - it was a bit faded. It was mainly clean but it needed modernising - new grouting on bathroom tiles perhaps.

"Overall favourable - good for a couples or singles short stay needing easy access to central london although the general noise from doors banging closed and creaking floors could cause some annoyance at night." (108392396)

clean rooms, quiet - no road noise, convenient for access to central London

noisy floors and extremely noisy doors even the front main entrance could be heard and felt closing. Very limited restaurant menu thankfully there are plenty of good quality restaurants withing 5 minutes walk.

"Very comforting to stay here - we felt well looked after and would definitely return." (108161136)

Easily located, excellent access to local amenities, comfortable, spacious and friendly. Very good breakfasts. Parking was available locally when the hotel car park was full and we were allowed to leave our bags in reception after checking out.

Reception staff did not explain payment process or night access clearly at the time of check in.

"Very adequate for what we wanted but room was a bit dated. Othere than that it was fine" (108393641)

Nice position and adequate for what we paid. We usually stay in Deonport Hotel but unable to get there, but in saying that we are staying again this weekend, my daughter lives just down the road

I thought the receptionist was a bit surly. Did not smile.

Breakfast selection was good. Bar meals - reasonably priced and good quality. Bus stop opposite and free tickets given by staff to get bus to o2 arena.

Cat in restaurant. Dust in room. Staff a bit miserable and uncommunicative on times.

Very nice location and good value. Also very convenient for transport to & from our venue . would not hesitate to come again.

Absolutely no bad points - just a small observation. Very creaky floorboards in room 250 . would not like to have been staying in the room below.

  • 3/10 Brian ( Mature couple)

"Worst hotel ever stayed in. Disturbed 3 times by other guests falling against wall to bedroom causing radiator to shake and vibrate." (107825798)

Staff at breakfast polite and helpful.

floor boards creaking on landing and in bedrooms which also disturbed sleep. Toilet not flushing at first attempt.

  • 7/10 Arthur ( Other)

from Bognor regis , GB  on  September 14, 2009

"Overall the hotel was perfectly adequate, with a good location overlooking the parkland. Staff were friendly and helpful and restaurant much better than I would have expected for this grade of hotel." (107429615)

overall experience was good, restaurant facilities were very acceptable with excellent range of choices for breakfast, and well presented dinner menus. Particulary valuable was the shuttle bus service to and from the Excel exhibition centre, provided free to participating hotel guests.

none really, although whilst my particular accommodation would have been adequate for a single night, it was less than comfortable for a 5-day stay.

Staff very friendly and accommodating. Size of room very generous - stayed in a Crown Double. Breakfast suitable for everyone, a wide selection to choose from, cooked, cereal, continental - very nice.

Plumbing very noisey - ie can tell when other guests are using the bath/shower/toilet. TV channels do not show very well.

Room was directly above function room which was in use until past midnight. Noisy people in room next door playing loud music, so loud that it took staff 5 times knocking on the door before they were heard. Also pictures on website made rooms look lovely really value for money but unfortunately they were not the same as pictures.

No air con! Too hot did not sleep well. No remote control for TV. Furniture was quite old!
