"The staff and their service was superb. Me and my friends really enjoyed the stay and would recommend anyone to choose this particular lovely and friendly hotel. Thanks to all the staff at the hotel. I really did not expect this kind of excellent service. I actually dont have any words to explain my stay, I would just like to say 'The best hotel I have stayed in' You will not regret." (97465185)

The accomodation was the best I stayed in so far, friendly, cheap and excellent.

"WE HAVE STAYED IN THE GUILDEROY BEFORE SO WE KNEW IT WAS EXCELLENT. Rhona & Simon go out of their way to accomodate and nothing is to much trouble. We unfortunately were one short on our party of 4, we had booked 2 double rooms, but one of our party cancelled very unexpectedly, this was no problem for the hotel and Simon very kindly only charged us single rate for that room." The owners of the hotel were fantastic - really friendly and accommodating.

We were given a family room - even though we were staying as a couple - but this, although slightly incovenient, was not a problem.

  • 9/10 Flornce (Family with older children)

    from Kells , IRELAND;IE on  August 10, 2006

"Didn't realise at time of booking that the hotel was situated well away from the main seafront, although this didn't pose a problem as there was a very good bus and tram service. Overall, our stay was most enjoyable..!" (3304795597)

Very clean, good food and friendly proprietors

The window in the bedroom for 3 had just a top-opening which didn't allow much air in, which left the room stuffy in the hot weather.

  • 8/10 Anonymous (Mature couple)

"We made our booking because we liked the idea of the candle-lit dinner, and we where not dissapointed, the food was superb. Cooking is clearly a passion with the hosts and this came across with the quality. The hotel needs a bit of a facelift especially the frontage, and the owners are working hard to achieve this." (3304622777)

Comfortable Bed. High standard of cleanliness.

    Rather cramped-Ok for one night.

"The hosts were fantastic, really friendly and very helpful. We had a slight delay in being able to use our room, but we were treated to complimentary tea and coffee and also a free bottle of wine with dinner to make up for this. The meals were outstanding, so much choice and of the highest quality - the five course meal is worth choosing. Breakfast was also excellent, such a wide range of choice. The only minor issue we found was that as we were both of a larger build, the bathroom was a little small (in room 12), and the shower door would probably be better with a curtain instead, as there was not much space to get into the shower with the door. Perhaps it would be worth mentioning while booking if that might be an issue, as the other rooms presumably have larger bathrooms (I believe we booked the last room, so that was fair enough!). It certainly isn't a big enough issue to put you off staying here, and in fact we took it in good humour and didn't worry about it. Easy to find, loads of free street parking outside and in the far more peaceful part of Blackpool, it's well worth a visit. They also have a huge tv in the lounge too!" (3304659357)

The food was great. Prices were ok. Location wasn't too bad. Very quiet. No groups of kids getting drunk and coming in all hours

It was a little dated. The rooms were very tiny and you had to sit sideways on the toilet as the sink wasn in the way. Very tiny rooms.

  • 9/10 Melony (Family with older children)

    from Swansea , United Kingdom;GB on  April 24, 2006

"The owners and the staff went out of their way to make sure that everybody had a good time there. We found it hard to find somewhere when out in Blackpool to take teenagers in i.e they couldn't go the the pubs as they were too young, and the family pubs were full of families with young children. So going back to the hotel with the karoke on the friday and elvis on the saturday night was fantastic." (3304487074)

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel, the staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the entertainment that was put on for the weekend. It was also lovely to come back to a clean room each afternoon.

Could definitely recommend the bedroom for 5 people - 2 adjoining rooms with en-suite facilities. All beds were very comfortable. The location of the hotel was convenient for the town centre and the lights at Bispham - only a short tram ride." (2792269)

charming hosts, the breakfasts are exceptional, location for public transport and availability of carparking.

they are in the process of upgrading some of the rooms therefore it would be premature to offer any criticism

  • 9/10 James (Family with young children)

    from London , United Kingdom;GB on  November 2, 2005

"Our stay was brief, as such we spent very little time in our room so although it was very small it didn't really affect us too much. We were aware that there were no on-suite facilities which proved to be more of a problem than antisipated due to the demand from other guests. On the whole our experience was enjoyable and we were made to feel very welcome." (2813640)

Very friendly staff and well kept hotel, Room was very small for a family room and very dated but nice and clean

On suite facilities for all rooms

"WE RECENTLY STAYED AT THE NEW GUILDROY HOTEL IN BLACKPOOL. THE FIRST THING THAT STRUCK US WAS THE FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL STAFF WHO MADE US FEEL WELCOME FROM THE MINUTE WE ARRIVED. THE ROOM WE OCCUPIED WAS SPOTLESSLY CLEAN AND CONTAINED A DVD TELLY COMBO AND COFFEE MAKING FACILITIES. I MUST SAY I WOULD EXPECT NO MORE THAN I RECIEVED FOR THE PRICE OF THE ROOM THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT AND WELL PRESENTED THERE WAS A SMALL BAR AREA WHICH WAS COSY AND ALL THE OTHER GUESTS WERE HAPPY TO TALK TO EACH OTHER . ALL IN ALL WE WOULD LIKE TO THANK THE NEW GUILDROY HOTEL FOR A VERY ENJOYABLE HOLIDAY." (2829881)

from Fen drayton , United Kingdom;GB on  November 1, 2005

"The staff where friendly, the rooms where adequate and clean. After an evening at a show we arrived back to the hotel and went to the bar for a drink, the owner came into the bar and after a while with plates of sandwiches for all the guests at no cost, I thought that this was a very nice gesture. All the food was very good. We will use this hotel again in the future." (2669149)

The Staff where friendly, the room was clean and comfortable.

Our initial wait for our room was a bit after it should have been but they made us a cup of tea so this was no problem. The owners are refurbishing the hotel at the moment so some disruptions are going to happen, the disruptions did not spoil our stay and we hardly noticed.

  • 7/10 William (Family with young children)

    from Mansfield , United Kingdom;GB on  October 31, 2005

"A great breakfast, with very pleasant and efficient staff. When all the refurbishment plans are complete, which I think will be during the winter, it will be a very good value for money hotel, conveniently situated to the promenade, tram line etc." (2823138)

    Efficient and friendly service

We stayed in room 6, a family room, which was very small amd the ensuite was even smaller. We had the good fortune to meet the owner when we checked out and he explained they had only owned the property since the spring, and time and cash restraits meant they have not completed what they eventually want to do. What they have done so far is good

"The only minor problem with the hotel was the thickness of the walls between the rooms. As i am up here on business, and Blackpool being a major holiday destination; people are up to enjoy themselves so there maybe times when they come back late and are not aware of people up here for business. The hotel itself is friendly and accomodating to you needs, a very nice atmosphere and set back away from the hustle of the centre." (2760011)
