"The staff were polite, friendly and very helpful, the room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was very good with the choice of continental, full cooked and cereals and fruit." (108359436)

There was no complimentary soap or shampoo in the bathroom. Only other thing was one of the dressing table legs was propped up by a piece of cardboard to stop it wobbling.

    "Very good" (108781393)

Quiet, also staff very friendly and helpful

The warm room was appreciated - however there needs to be an option for guests to have a light blanket. The Doona is too hot for some. A blanket was requested but was not able to be provided.

    "Generally satisfied." (108240225)

Very good breakfast & friendly staff - hotel also clean.

Rather pricey for a small hotel with variable room quality(ie size).

"Spoiled by poor performance in evening restaurant" (108924587)

Reception staff and breakfast staff were excellent

Evening meal was poor quality and heavily over seasoned. restaurant manager inappropriately dressed, over familiar with some guests at the expense of abandonning others. Tried to complain but was made to feel the guilty party.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was of a high standard and great value for money. If visiting Glasgow again I would definately consider using this hotel again.

    "Reasonably priced hotel" (107399141)

Convenently located and easy parking especially at night time and at weekends.

    Noisy customers from nearby pubs.

"Poor value for money at the rate I paid. " (107300583)

    Clean room. Polite service.

I feel that I have been cheated with the hotel rate. The standard of the hotel in general and the room in particular was that of a simple bed and breakfast and certainly not worth £120. When I checked out I was initially given a bill for £60 which I though was what I would expect for the standard of the hotel and room, only to have it withdrawn and told that actually I had to pay £120 because it was the rate I agreed to online. She even told me that the normal rate for a single room was in fact £60 but she had no authority to change it.

"I think the helpful friendly staff eased our mind about making connections, finding places to eat, locating the university. The room was spotless. The facilities were modern. The restaurant and bar were great places to relax. I'm recommending this hotel to our friends, family and colleagues. In fact, Glasgow in general was a wonderful place. This hotel exemplified that. " (107961819)

Wonderful location, helpful staff, nice decor, modern facilities.

None. We'll be recommending the hotel to friends, family and colleagues.

"We had stayed at the Argyll Hotel before, but were very disappointed with our recent stay. We were attending a trade show at the SECC, and it was important to us to be able to return to the hotel for a good dinner that didn't take 1-1/2 hours. By dinnertime, we were tired and didn't want to sit there that long - especially not for the food that was available!" (107226689)

Good location for SECC; nice small hotel

Dining room was totally inadequate - menu was very limited and then they ran out of some of the items plus it was very slow.

The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff,in both reception and dining room, was outstanding. We were clean, comfortable and well fed and would certainly return to the Argyll.

At the time my friend and I stayed, the hotel did not have a liqor licence.
