    Large airy room. Excellent breakfast.

    Some things are a bit 'tired' eg the bathroom floor covering wrinkled and required renewal.Entrance porch a bit run down

    Very good location, especially if one has an appointment at the French Embassy. Also, I think the bathroom was clean and well-maintained, in contrast to the room itself.

    Room was small, very basic. In terms of value for money, I think it was overpriced. For example, a kettle was provided but the only working plugpoint was located on the floor beside the television !

    Breakfast was included in the price, nice quiet room with large windows- great location!

    Bathroom and hall ways needed refurbishing.

    "Breakfast was very poorly organised and apparently someone else had already had my meal and used my room number?!... which was strange. The bar closed very early (11pm) Service was poor and the people at reception werent very polite..." (97968898)

    Shower wasw very poor, not enought head room in it.. the room was pretty average and the quality of the bed linnen wasnt great.

    "Overall this hotel is pleasant and the price to stay was excellent considering the location. With a few improvements it could be a great hotel but modernising too much would take away the old character feel of the building. If the price was right I would stay here again but would check for other options first." (99359836)

    Excellent location, a few minutes walk from the tube and plenty of restaurants on the doorstep. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean and the bedrooms are spacious. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice.

    The main problem with this hotel was the room being very warm and I was unable to open a window as it led straight onto a fire escape. Although the age of the hotel gives it character some areas of the hotel and the room looked a bit old and scruffy but these could be easily rectified. The blankets on the bed reminded me of when I was a child and before the days of central heating, I would recommend that the hotel remove these and leave in the cupboard for guests to have if required. The bed was a bit too soft for my liking but I guess that is down to personal taste.

    the room was bigger than i expected, the hotel was really good for the price. breakfast was nice, lots of choice, very close to the tube station

    the shower in our room was faulty, the tap would not stop running and we were told it would be fixed while we went out. we got back and it was not fixed. at 1am we were offered another room, which was aparently the best room in the house, but that shower did not work properly eitha, as we discovered the next morning

    Room has no air conditioning as it can get stuffy during the summer. Receptionists were very unhelpful - relunctant even to help to reconfirm flights Room is very dim Room rates are variable for each day

    "Clean and comfortable large room. Decor a bit dated, although I think this added to its character, and could certainly do with a coat of paint and new carpets in places. Included breakfast was good value. For the price I paid of £69 I think this was very good value. The price does seem to vary a lot though depending on the time booked I suppose, and I wouldn't pay a lot more than this." (97435195)

    Very efficient check in and out. Large room, comfortable bed, very powerful hot shower. Convenient location for museums and Royal Albert Hall.

    Could do with redecorating, sliding secondary glazing window very stiff to open. (Had to open it for some ventilation) Creaky floorboards.

    Good location - close to museums and Royal Albert Hall

    Breakfast Room of an inadequate size in order to cater for all guests - had to queue for 20 minutes for breakfast.

    The Bar had rather Limited opening hours & I could not get any room service drinks or food. Only one menber of staff actually smiled at us ( excluding the breakfast staff )

    "Overall this hotel did exactly what it said on the tin. The rooms let the hotels image down, they were in need of a lick of paint, and were very dated. Window didnt open. Bathroom was cold and damp. But for one nights accommodation it surficed. Its location was its shining grace." (99731713)

    "This hotel was advertised as a 4* hotel - it really was not. The room was v shabby and although not dirty was not a pleasant place to be. The shower dripped, and then did not deliver any hot water (the bath taps worked OK) The bath pannel was broken and floor tiles in the bathroom were chipped. The gripper rod from bedroom to bathroom poked through the carpet and cut my toe. The light on desk did not work" (3305291458)

    Room v shabby, carpet gripper poking through carpet- cut foot! Shower did not give out any hot water. Communal rooms v tired and shabby. Breakfast v poor. It is NOT a 4* hotel

    "Generally speaking, this hotel is very good value for money. It is centrally located, near to the major museums on Brompton Road (Victoria and Albert, Natural History, etc.), as well as to the Tanaka Business School (Imperial College) and Harrod's. The metro stop is also across the street, which is very convenient in a city like London. South Kensington is full of British and international restaurants, all within walking distance of the Hotel."     The Regency-type decor in the bedrooms, and throughout the halls and lobby area. I also appreciated the fact that the hotel had bidets.

    It would have been advisable to have air-conditioning, especially during the heat wave that was taking place when we were visiting London.

    Very conveniently located, across the street from London Underground and one block from the Victoria and Albert Museum. Very good breakfast!

    The weather was hot, but the elaborate air conditioning controls in the room didn't really do anything. There was a portable fan though, which helped in sleeping. The shower was inadequate in multiple ways, but that was little different from any other place I've stayed in Britain. I did have to fix the showerhead positioning device myself with the aid of a sturdy rubber band. Very effective if I do say so myself!

    "We arrived mid afternoon.Check in was swift and efficient.Our room was comfortable,clean and quiet.We were able to have a rest,shower and cup of tea before going to The Royal Albert Hall.This was an enjoyable walk away of less than half a kilometer. After the show we went back to our room ,had a cup of tea and retired for the night.In the morning we showered and then had a lovely buffet Breakfast.We then watched TV until 11a.m.when we checked out.Everything was excellent!"     Friendly and helpful receptionist when checking in,good location,breakfast is included in rate and not bad.

    False alarm of fire alarm at 6am,caused by someone's shower producing 'steam'! On second night,had no hot water in bath, so could not shower....plumbing is not the strength of the hotel...

    it was convenient and the staff were nice and friendly. But generally the hotel was disappointing and in serious need of a lick of paint.

    The breakfast room did not supply trays and when i asked they thought it was strange that i wanted a tray to carry breakfast plate, fruit juice and coffee. The sheet and blankets did not look very nice and my husband slept on top of the bed. The room generally was in need of an update.

    "This hotel is located in a lively and safe nieghbourhood - half block from Underground station, lots of restaurants, close to museums. Good sized rooms (for London). My room was at the back (away from the street) and quiet enough to leave the window open all night. Hotel is old, and showing signs of wear, but adequately maintained and cleaned.     the receptionist had very poor english we had water coming through our ceiling in the bathroom and all we were told is that it would be reported to maintenance and there was no managers available to talk to also that there was no room service available and the bar closed at 1100pm and we were told we were not allowed to buy any drinks after that time even if we took them back to the room. I also complained that there was no hot water for me to shower in on sunday morning and I feel this is a basic necessity of any hotel.

    "Overall, the hotel was adequate, with the public areas being of a much better standard than the room. I felt the room desperately needed refreshing, but otherwise was acceptable. The bathroom however, was another matter. This looked dirty (even though the suite was clean), the windows appeared to being falling to pices and did not close (not particularly secure for a lone female traveller), the walls looked filthy due to the tile grouting being ancient and overall, left a lot to be desired (even for budget accommodation)."     It was good value for money although i would have complained if i was paying the original amount of £160 pp

    the room was tucked away round the corner from the other rooms, next tofire exits, the room was in great need of maintenance, there was a spa in the bath, but alas it did not work!!!!!!!!!!!!!
