Close to Stranraer’s town centre and ferry port, this charming family-run bed and breakfast is housed in an attractive, stone-built Victorian property, boasting fine original woodwork and ceilings.

With just 3 rooms, the Fernlea Guest House offers a warm welcome, a friendly atmosphere and attentive, individual service. Decorated to a high standard, the guest house boasts 3-stars from the Scottish Tourist Board.

All of the comfortable, charming rooms are en suite and have TVs, hospitality trays, hairdryers, fluffy white towels and crisp white sheets.

Free Wi-Fi is available throughout.

During your stay you can easily visit a number of local attractions, including Logan Botanical Gardens, the Southern Upland Way and Portlogan (home of the BBC TV series Two Thousand Acres of Sky). Also close to ferries to Ireland, you can enjoy a day trip to Belfast.

The hotel has a private car park and parking is available for guests free of charge.

All guests are given their own key and are free to come and go as they please, accessing the guest house at any time.

Breakfast is served from 07:30 until 09:00 - the exact time is arranged the night before. Nearby there is a choice of hotels, pubs and restaurants that are ideal for lunch or an evening meal.

By Car: From Dumfries: - Take the A75. - Drive straight through the town centre. - At the mini roundabout, turn left onto Lewis Street. - Fernlea is situated 500 metres further along on the right, just before the Ryan Leisure Centre and swimming pool. From Ayr: - Take the A77. - Take the first available left turn as you enter the town limits. - At the end of this road turn right. - You are now on the A75, follow the directions as above. If in doubt follow the signs for the swimming pool and leisure centre. Ideal for both Stranraer and Cairnryan Ferries.
