The Madreselva lies just off the main beach of Los Caños de Meca, known for its golden sands and great surfing. The surrounding open countryside and dramatic coastline are perfect for biking.

When not enjoying the local scenery, you can enjoy the plentiful sunshine with a dip in the outdoor swimming pool. Each of the rooms in this small, traditional hotel features its own private courtyard which you can use to store your bike or surf equipment.

Those looking to explore inland can rent bicycles or cars to reach the charming nearby whitewashed town of Vejer. You can easily enjoy the White Villages Route which takes you through several other authentic and historic whitewashed villages. You can also take the Sherry Route and discover more about one of the region’s most famous exports. Historic Cape Trafalgar provides another location for a cultural daytrip. Here you can visit the Beach of Souls, named after the famous battle. A number of nature parks are found in the surrounding area, including Las Breñas and the Alcornocales forest. Along with surfing in the Atlantic Ocean, the local wide-open beaches are also popular amongst kite surfers.
